Picked up my new Tig 1 week ago,103tdi,6speed manual and very happy with it.
Got the H/R tow bar kit fitted yesterday including all the special wiring kit which seems to work well.Bar looks good and strong and fits up behind the bumper bar with only the goose neck showing.Dealer quoted me $1800 and the H/R bar was $799 fitted which took them 4hrs. As I only pull a box trailer I did'nt think the OME unit was worth the money.

Glad you managed to get fitted on the cheap.
Hope it goes well and that you don't have any issues with it

Can you take some photos for us?

Looks like I got done... I had a H-R bar fitted to my new Tig 147 tsi a week ago and it cost about A$980. But I'm happy, it looks good, is strong and has the ECU connection.......and a lot cheaper than the approx $1600 I was quoted for a "V W" bar...(also made I believe in NZ).

Hope you enjoy yr Tiggy....p

Sorry that this has taken so long-work wrecks your life-I can take you some pics but I don't know how to put them in here-the computer knows more about me than I know about it-and there is not much to see, only the reciever and goose neck.As far as the cost goes I think they only charged me the cost of the bar and wiring kit but no labour.I bet they will charge a lot more next time as it took 2 blokes about 4hrs and they said it was a big job as they had to run wiring from the back up to the fuse box to get power.I love this little car and that TDI motor just keeps on pulling and giving great fuel economy-Newcastle to Sydney and return comes in at 5.4 lts/100k and around town 6.9lts/100k.Does any one have any suggestions for tyre pressures-book says 32psi but when I checked them from the dealer they were 46-48psi so I let them down to 32psi.Many thanks you clever people.
