Gidday guys,

I am thinking of getting O2J Quaife LSD from ECS. It comes in either 113mm or 114mm. Unfortunately I was told there was no way to find out which one I have unless it's opened up. My car manufacture is end of 2005. I had all MK4 Golf shifting bushes (not mixed with MK5 stuff).

What are the chances that I will have 114mm and can it be modified to 113mm.

What other installation parts do I need? I also want to strengthen it up with the bolt upgrade from rivet.

Correct me if I am wrong...Doesn't a LSD lock the diff as it senses wheel spin?

What is the difference between the 'electronic differential lock' on the polo gti and an aftermarket LSD upgrade?

I am interested in getting one too, my car manufactured date is 2008.

cheers

Stock system applies brake to wheel spinning, proper LSD limits the difference in wheel rotation mechanically, big difference.

Part # 02J 498 005B Suggested retail $945.00
Our differential comes with 2 - bearings, Special
ARP bolt kit, speedo gear, O-rings and gasket.

This product is used in the new Golf 4cyl and new 5cyl Jetta cars 2004 and up.
This differential has 113mm ring gear diameter, and uses our new bolt kit (02J-B)
Order with Vin number to make sure you get the correct differential. Some times
the Vin number won't work or trans. code number as VW has yet come up with a
way to tell the public which ring gear they have.
If you have the new Jetta/Golf car with the 5 cyl. engine you will take the 02J 498 005B
differential.
This differential will be used in the 02S SEAT LEON and 02R Polo from this production date 01 10 03 this
date along with letters is found on top of trans. near shift cable connects to trans.

True??

I just email Peloquin, and quote my 2008 built polo with its Vin, he replied the Vin showed my trans code is JDB, which is correct.
And he says the 02J 498 005B is the correct one for me.

Did the polo used the same gearbox across the years of 9N polo?

If you search the forum you will find your answers.

I have also been touch with Mr. Peloquine, and I also have been advised that I should go with 113mm kit.

Jmac - why did it mash? it must have had a stronger bolt kit when Peloquin was installed??? how did that happen? Also I guess I can still use Redline MT90 with Peloquin? I think I am going Peloquin way.

Also anyone with LSDs here, do you have to turn ESP off to be able to enjoy it? or with ESP on at track, does LSD still show its effect?
