Tunit/DP Chip from AWD Tech Berrima diesel, reputed to be the best out there according to the 4wd magazines. Has run faultlessly for me and they provide a great improvement to the R5

Just plugs into your R5 loom, very easy, selectable settings. Just plug it in and drive, no tuning to be done.

$850.00 AUD shipped anywhere in the world

According to the DPCHIP website, they are also good for current model polo, golf, caddy, and T5 TDIs. You'd probably need to get a cable from Berrima Diesel for the different plugs on the different motors.
Sorry for the formatting, but see what you make of this (from the website)

what does this thing do to your economy?

I own a similar chip fitted to my MkV 2.0 TDI - made by Dragon Performance in the UK.
http://www.mrhoot.com/
They are also sold on ebay, approx. $580 Au + postage.
It's not a bad thing, BUT it does have the odd hesitation sometimes between 1700 and 2000rpm at minimal throttle openings.
Power and torque is great, sensational even.
Economy is similar to stock, on a trip often a little better than stock, but marginal.
They are cheaper than the other chip described here, but the same in principle and looks.
Actually looking at selling mine to purchase a Bluefin from Superchips. Much more expensive, supposedly better.

richo, should not have 'hesitation'. the one i have for sale is tuned specifically for the pd tdi system and does more than simply add fuel logarithm to increase power (this why your will hesitate as it is likely adding too much fuel at the wrong time..). so you are right spend more money for the right product.

the dp/tunit unit here is about the best you can buy

Serious Richo, must have a meet up when you have, as I am looking toward a retune option in the future.

I have a DP module in my T5 TDI 128kw, just awesum, the only problem you have to watch your right foot other wise to much wheel spin before ASR cuts in.

Just had my 18 month old chip replaced in my R5. The new one is a later generation and the torque curve seems lower ie better off the lights and through roundabouts. Halfway through my first tank, so I can't comment on fuel economy. The old chip lied to the Treg's trip computer so that economy seemed better. I'll do a couple of fill and empties and see how it goes.

All said and done, wouldn't be without it. Lovely piece of kit and the customer service at Berrima Diesel is outstanding.

Cheers

do you still have the 2500 rpm power surge with the module?

The power increase is still noticeable at 2500 rpm, but to my mind not as pronounced. I guess to better describe what I think is happening with the torque is that the lag I used to experience when taking off or trying to accelerate out of roundabouts seems to be far less evident.

Overall very happy.

Have you adjusted the module or the guys at Berrima deisel through the lap top?

As far as I know, the new chip was straight out of the box, and set on 5. Andrew had spent the best part of an our setting up my old chip, trying to manipulate delays etc without success. In the end he just chucked in the new chip and the problem was solved.

In the next few weeks I'll try a few of the power settings to see what effect they have. Setting 5 on this one seems stronger than 5 on my old one.

Matthew

From the first day I had the old chip installed, I had a perculiar problem that when I was travelling at 100-120kmh down hill, the car would slow, then surge, the slow etc. It was as though the fuel was being completley shut off. There were no indications on the dash that anything was amiss.

I had Andrew look at it a cople of times, but I was never with him during a test drive, so he never really knew what I was on about. It wasn't until we went on a test drive together a couple of weeks ago that he really understood the problem. After a couple of hours driving and mucking about with the old chip, he replaced it with a new one and the problem went away. He's going to use the old chip as a tester.

The new generation chip is great, and the customer support at Berrima Diesel has been first rate. :)

Have you chipped your Pajero yet, he does them too.

Cheers

Bob

My T5 does exactly the same thing when the cruise control is on going down a slight hill at 110-115 kmh.
