As of recents events involving my MK2 I've been considering adding some (discreet) guages in my Golf.

Not sure how I found out about these guys, but I did and their MK2 specific gauges don't seem to flashy and would give a car an nice simple overall stock look
duostyling by badzak design (http://www.duostyling.com/frames.html)

Has anybody had any experience with them?
Just curious as to whether I should take this path, or just buy some simple, small, VDO gauges.

I'd only be interested in a Voltage and possibly Oil Temp gauge (just not sure whether to go Duo or VDO).

Thanks

If your MFA is working, you won't need extra oil temp gauge.
I've been thinking of getting duo as well but can't justify with their price yet.
I haven't heard anyone in oz has used them. let us know how it behave if you decide to go ahead :)

DOH!!!
I don't have a working MFA so I never realised I could get the Oil temp from there..... thats a good reason to get mine working then!
In that case all I'd need would be a Volt and possibly AFR gauge (but a MFA kinda does that with the Litres/100km mode....)

Also Duostyling gauges simply "slip in" to the 3 blanks in my dash, but VDO gauges need monting somwhere.
The only place I could think to mount a VDO gauge would be where the cigarette tray usually goes.....

I'd get oil pressure and volt.
VDO gauge is good but I just don't want to cut anything in my car to mount them.

You could put them under the cigarette tray like mine:

Not a bad set-up.... but not really my thing.
Perhaps if I was going to strip out and race my MK2, but Im more than happy for my MK2 to stay a stock, loyal daily.
(for some reason) Im hellbent on keeping the stock look

PS, Ive never seen such a black dash!

I have a voltage guage from duostyling, very clean and easy to install. They use factory blanks so its a perfect fit and the finish on the guages is tip top.

This is my daily :-D

And to be honest I was planning on changing the dash around and getting all new gauges, but decided I'm not changing anything on this car... I'll wait until I get another :P

As for the super black dash, thats about 2L of Armour All stuff rubbed in over 3 days, plus a quick go over every week (I HATE having a dirty interior!)

Are they suppose to be all wonky?

I'll admit the mount is horrid, but I'll fix that later. UK was limited in din gauge mounts, and this cost me 8AUD!

Yes wonky as they point north when in the operating zones. Easy to see at a glance.
