Last night we sat together and worked as a team, started putting all the bits together, Tony did the painting. Had problems with the little cross bar that lines up the wheels, really fragile, be careful ours snapped but found an easy way to fix it. the transfer for the dash dials are a bugger to do.

Looks great, I see you guys have got a keen head start on me!

I haven't bought the paint yet, but let's say I'm not following the manufacturer's recommendations ;)

We hope you have made a start by now Alex, we aren't exactly following instructions, just want it looking like HAH44.
We are at the stage of painting the body, which has been the hardest, we bought the brush on paint, not good enough, then bought the wrong spray paint, finally bought the right spray paint, just waiting for the final coat before I post a pic.
The rest is done waiting to be put together. Hope there's a post from you asap with your progress.:tapfingers:

You even managed to take out the back seat, wow, we didn't think it could be done so we left it.
Plus you were clever enough to mask the black trim, Tony spray painted the whole car then hand painted the trim, what a pig of a job to get right, well done  it is so hard being so small.

VR6pitcrew

Well we both sat there last night intensely working on Mini me VR6, trim was so hard, wish we'd done what R32 did, mask it up first, learnt something new:idea:

Ok well after a massive leave of absence, I'm back! Unfortunately I haven't made any progress on my model as I think the glue would make me a little sick (have had the flu for two weeks). I hope to get back into it this week!

Nelson brought round his model, wow it is awesome, made ours look bad, his is such an excellent model of HAH44, even the back seats are out and he has lowered it. Nelson you win:clap::notworthy::winner: we are going to repaint ours black to look like LUCE4

Here are the pics I promised.
After talking to thestu & seeing his model & getting his advice we also bought new adjustable suspension so that we could lower it.
We now have it fully working, just have to get it painted.
We are still waiting for the BBS rs wheels to arrive, plus I'm now making new stickers for the lights etc, same as HAH44, then of coarse the roof racks & skis.
Must get it finished for 12th September- VWD Action Day so that we can take it along with HAH44

We are really happy with how they turned our.

Thanks Tony, we couldn't believe our luck getting the BBS wheels, hunted the internet for them, they come from the US, a really nice guy, JP sells them, he has them with all different coloured centres, don't know if he has 1/18 scale, you could ask, his web site is ::welcome to the home of TEAM POGI:: (http://www.teampogi.com/wheels)
jpmonzon@gmail.com
They are only $20-$22 US + $2 shipping for all 4 wheels,he even helped us get the tyres, we wanted low profile stretched look with tread that wasn't so chunky.

WOW, thats just fantastic. The big question is where did you get both the model and the 1/10th shell?

I have a 1/10th scale nitro powered car with a beetle shell that could really do with a nice golf shell instead and I'm also very interested in that plastic model. I tried to order the VR6 and ended up with a Mk3 GTI, mind you I haven't looked in a while. Can you share your sources please?
