Hey Guys,

My names Jim and im from the S.E Suburbs of Melb.

Just got rid of a JDM WRX STi and jumped into a 2001 GTi, got it for an absolute steal of a price and loving it every day.

Will get some pics up.

PS: I can get very heavily reduced aftermarket parts, ie suspension, brakes, etc...

May post an example for the MK4 for whiteline gear I will be doing to my own car soon.

Will meet ya all eventually.

Sorry guys, have been very busy with work, finally got my hands on a decent camera.

Here it is, just installed some foggies off ebay. Wired up to current foggies in headlights. One of the best 80 bux ever spent!

hey mate, looks really cool!!! love the blacked out badges.:D .. but I dont think you are meant to have the foggies as it blocks the intercooler on the drivers side. check with some of the other guys here,,,could be wrong.:?

That is cheap for foglamps. You got some close up pics and a brief run down on the quality etc, and finally a link to who you bought them from.

They do look the goods.

Cheers

Hey Mate,

It has only taken away 1/3 of the surface area so air getting through wont be heavily restircted.

Car isnt modded performance wise so for the moment, i aint worried!

Hey Buddy,

The quality is identical to the stock grille bits. Couldnt find any flaws whatsoever.

Passengers side fitted fine.

Drivers side, had to alter a metal bracket, had nothing to do with cooler.

Air easily gets through the grille sarrounding the light.

No issues, wired upto headlight foggies, its great!

These appear to be deisgned for the intercooler to receive airflow, like on the polos...

They arrived today, and agree, they are OEM quality plastics.

The loom looks pretty good as well.

Install on the weekend I think.

Car looks great MRJZ, should be getting much less unwanted attention compared with the WRX :) How's the Mk4, after you've had it for roughly a month?

So;

I Bought fogs,

Sold car,

Have not installed lamps,

What next?

mikinoz
31-05-2007, 10:35 PM
Oh, before I sold the car installed these lamps and they looked great. Only had to shave a small amount of the drivers side one because the tow point was obstructing slightly (but car had been hit on the bumper many years ago and that may have moved things slightly).

So why did you buy them then sell the car shortly after? I thought it must have been a typo at first but clearly it wasn't. What's on the way?

Mikinoz, does that mean you have a useless full pair of fogs and lamp sitting idle doing nothing? You willing to sell it? How much to buy? Or are you one of those rare types who is willing to give it to the first person who asked? :)

I bought the lamps, then decided before they arrived to sell the car, had an AMAZINGLY fast sale (thanks MKVGTI) and installed them for the young lady that bought the car - because I needed closure on my 'project' that I had started.

Strange but true!

What is on the way? Well it is here! (http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/newforum/upload/showthread.php?t=5618)

I suggest buying from the eBayer that we both bought from. Awesomely fast shipping and OEM quality item, with full wiring loom/switch and relay included!

I would give them away, but I have not them anymore. More than welcome to the wiring loom, as I cut into one that I installed earlier.

BMC renewable panel filter may be up for grabs soon... keep an eye out!
