Would anyone know where i would go to get a set of Samco hoses or silmilar for a VR6? On the way to work this morning another hose split and the golf overheated....water and steam everywhere......oh and then an PHAT R32 in metallic black drove past.....as the sun hit its body work it almost looked llike a golden browny black....very very nice.....anywayz back to my problem...
Im kinda getting tired of hoses going all the time, can anyone shed any light on where i should be looking or what i should be doing...
I remember golf loon told me that i should change all of the hoses in one go then i know that there wont be any probs, but i kinda wanna get the uprated hoses so that i know for sure theres gonna be no leaks etc....

ebay, theres a few mobs that do silicon hoses for the VR6
i think the kit for a rhd car is different to a lhd one tho? so make sure to check that up i think.
But yeah the kits are expensive but if u compare what VW charge per hose. Im sure it would work out cheaper in the long run. I know ive paid over $100 for a single hose from VW.

thanks guys, i will give ebay a go...ive been looking for some on the net and the kit for the VR6 RHD is between $350 - $400 dollors, but that doesnt include shipping costs.....
I think your right, in the long run it will probably be worth while....
where do you guys get your hoses from? main dealer?
ive only ever gotten mine from the dealer. But ive only replaced 2 i think. Both at between $100 - $120 i think.

Hi Tim
Just got a price for these from Steve
545 for the set
When you compare this for a full VW set @ 440 I think the extra 100 is prolly worth it
Not sure on the time frame from order to delivery but I think Ill be ordering in the next 3 to 4 weeks
Cheers
Mark

Depends when you get them possibly we can do a group buy:?
from my experience, parts from the US is always cheaper. you just need to make sure you got the part no. right. is TCS109/C for RHD?
the first google hit lead to nolimitmotorsport.com. they go for $262US excl shipping. thats not bad, especially where are dollar is at.
I say bling bling for samco.

i would like to get them, am in no hurry.
i have been searching the web for the cheapest place to get them, and someone on eclubvw.com and he said forge motorsport sells them for 300 dollars = shipping...so i emailed forge for a price. they are based in the UK....
oh, the product code is TCS109/C....which is a 7 hose kit for our VR6s...
if you end up getting them and it will make it cheaper for you im happy to get a set too. im not in any hurry at all though. youd end up having to have them delivered to individual addresses though unfortunately cos theyd go over 1k pretty easily if we were to try for a group buy

Cos, you mentioned that nolimitmotorsport in the US sell the samco hose kit for 262USD, that equates $312.43 australian. that sounds like the cheapest we are gonna find.
TCS109/C i s the product code for the RHD Vr6s.
I have never done a group buy before so dont know exactly how it works...
cheers,

I am a definate maybe on the group buy
I have never done a group buy before so dont know exactly how it works...
I've never participated or organised a group buy before, but this is my take on it.
..make a group buy post here.
..register all those who are interested.
..contact the supplier and tell them you want a group buy and how many people are interested.
..get a quote from them and do some haggling.
..notify registered members.
..get funds from members and their hosiery preference.
..pay supplier.
..notify members of shipment.
special considerations:
usually you won't see killer prices unless its 10+. remember each item is shipped individually, though the supplier may have some sort of special shipping arrangement.
I also do not recall the import duty limit. my last purchase from the states was around 250US and I didn't get any duty on it. from experience, I rarely get taxed when shipped via USPS. shipping with fedex, ups, etc. they always have some reason to scam more money. sometimes you can get away with tax by saying the parts are US made(free trade agreement).
also note, nolimit accepts paypal, which can make payments convenient; given all banking conditions are met.
double check shipping address etc. you wouldn't want anyone missing out.:)
http://www.customs.gov.au/site/page.cfm?u=5549
customs website states goods less than $1000 are import tax duty free.

You would have to bring in like 2 at a time otherwise it would get you for the tax. Guys if we are serious about this lets do one in a couple of months time as it costs a bit and it may take a few months to get some cash in hand:)

since the items would be shipped to each buyer, you'd only need to attach an invoice on one item.
on that note, individual invoices would need to be arranged if buyers are not comfortable sending money to pommy.
