do you mean the black trims on the door frames... they would be fairly cheap to replace if thats the case. from memory golf v trims were around $25ish
hope that helps

Yeah - they're not expensive.
I'd be worried about using something abrasive on them like scratch x. Because its plastic and not a painted surface, the sratch x might just make the surface look dull and worn instead of original and shiney.

Yep, I had the same thing happen to my new tiguan. When I picked it up from the dealers it was scratched lengthways on all trims. I had the weathershields fitted, and it seems that when they cleaned it before applying the shields, they used something too abrasive.

Must be so careful what is used on these trims.

Also watch out for passengers (or yourself) with rings on the fingers. Will cause deep scratches tooo if not careful.

The b-pillars are quite prone to scratching.

I'd try a plastic polish..

When restoring old radios (Plastic or bakelite) I use Brasso!. Follow this with car polish that has hard wax.
Then finally, lots of buffing, elbow grease etc. (Only applies to shallow scratches)
(But in most cases I use buffing wheel with various wax based polishing compounds)

When I got my car the b pillars were already scratched so I got a set of the carbon fibre pillar covers, they've been on now for about 3 months and still look excellent.
No scratches on them at all. Can send pictures to you via PM as unable to post pics for some reason.

I used a Maguires swirl and scratch remover car polish on mine which got out some light scratches.

Picture of Carbon fibre b pillar cover on Golf, matches the carbon fibre surround inside the car.

Got them from ebay but they can be bought through VW, but they're alot more expensive. They make all the difference to the side of the car.
