Hi there everyone.
Hope you are all enjoying a safe and happy easter.
Wondering if you can get the GTI polo programmed so that when you click unlock a few times that the windows go down automatically, then when you press lock they go back up automatically?
I know that if you put the key in the door and hold it in the unlock position the windows go down, but it doesnt look too suave doing it that way.
Also one other thing, is it possible to have it programmed so that when u start driving, the doors automatically lock?

I dont think the polo can have the window feature. But it can have the door lock thing. I have mine set to 20kph and it locks.
You need vagcom to do it.

You mean your doors don't lock? Mine have always locked automatically at 15km/h.
I have tried the Window OBD II module, it doesn't work. I've seen it work on MK4 Golf GTI's.
That I'm aware of, know one with VAG-COM experience has plugged it in to a Polo GTI and worked out what you can program. I've tried plugging the cheaper VAG-COM in and it wouldn't connect.

VAG-COM does work with the Polo :) . George at VWVillage in Kensington used it to check out my car, and to reprogram the locking system -- mine now locks at 20kph, too. As stated, it seems it is not possible to program the windows up/down feature, though :?

Yeh but there are two types of cable/software version and the cheaper one wont read Polo's.

Mine faithfully lock at 10km/h. Perhaps this is something the dealers actually set in predelivery, given that they lock at different speeds in different cars?
I know someone with a non-GTI Polo who doesn't have the dual-stage unlocking via the remote (no VAGCOM intervention that I know of), which further raises my suspicions.

In terms of locking yeh there is a fair bit you can do. It's very possible that the locking is set to diff speeds by each dealer.
