Bought a brand spankin new Black Polo GTI, no options. I was happy, until I found out that I paid WAY TOO much for it! 29k drive away  They're saying 2-3 weeks for delivery, but it looks like I have no way of getting out of the deal.

Congrats on the purchase but im sorry to hear about the price. Where are you located, was it subject to finance or anything?

Apparently they're going for 27k drive away right now (but then I heard that this could be 06 plated cars). I signed the papers at Burwin VW in Melbourne.

So you signed for a 07 car? Be careful that you are comparing eggs with eggs. Others are getting $27K drive away BECAUSE they are buying leftover 06 stock. If you want new, which means lots of things come resale time, then $29K is the price you need to pay, and it's still a damm good price compared to what the first buyers paid.

As others have said, don't let this get you down. You are buying what I think is the most under-rated and best value car on the market. And it's also the rarest new VW out there ;)

I just paid 28.1 for an 07 with metalic paint and a tint. Should have it by Friday!

Dont feel bad, I paid the same for my 07 plated vehicle. Depending on stock you may or may not do better. They seem to be going for around that range. In 3 1/2 weeks from now when you take it for a good drive you wont even think about the price. :D

yeah I happy with the price, it was drive away with factory tint and metalic pant.... Before signing the order another dealer offered to get me a price and when he called back he said the price was 700 below his cost.

Having worked for VW in Melbourne, your price is not that bad. Most punters pay over $30k for these things stock, and being in the know, my price was only a couple hundred less than yours and I worked for the buggers!

Don't stress! As soon as you have your first REAL drive, the price will become irrelevant. You will fall in love as I have after only 700kms in my Stock '07 Model.

got mine for 28k with corporate discount so realistically, i would have paid a little more.

Hope you get the same buzz i got driving it home. Once its yours and your driving it, youll be amazed how well the bloody thing goes. gorgeous car

Yeah, the price no longer matters now. After 500ks, anything price would have been justifiable :D

... and won't be thinking about money. I paid more than you 30k - drive away and I don't care ... in fact, I'm contemplating spending 000's more on it: Chip, Swaybar, suspension, (possibly Caractere body kit), etc. etc.

It's your Baby now ... ya gotta do right by it ... :D

you must have misinterpreted what I said.. I am wrapped with what I paid as I know that you'd be hard pressed to find someone who paid less (my brother excluded) :D

Leaving work now... peace out hommies
