I'm putting this up on behalf of my mate.

He's been after a mk 1 for a while, but still empty handed at the moment.

Prefer a 4 door, reasonably unmodifed, with a reasonably rust free body (ie not a sh*t heap)

Prefer it to be running and in close to registerable condition.

Prefer in Vic, but will travel for the right car

Reasonable budget, have cash ready!

Let me know whats out there!

golfwagen have one registered and running in Perth. far i know but very good car and would make a great road trip from WA to melbourne

Say 500-1000, depending on condition.

He's not after a shop stopper or anything, just something that's in decent condition, and worthwhile saving (as opposed to a sh*t heap, where everything is shagged)

ive got a really nice 4door in nsw if your willing to trailer it down to melb. id want around 1200 but its a really good base

iv got one for $900 in mk1 section 1978 model. needs a bit of work but easy as project.

Cheers, have seen it. hopefully looking at another on locally soon, but yours is on the radar.

Hows it drive? good enough condition to drive it to VIC?

na wouldnt try it. clutch cable is playing up too so it have to be trailered hence selling it so cheap
