That would sell well here (epacially in diesel ;) ) Not keen on the chrome around the side windows.

I agree and sell as as a Jetta Wagon or else buyers will get confused with th fronts :D

Porsche influence on family wagon :D could be used as a selling point :D lol

I actually like the design now the RL pics show the lines better ;)

I reckon the Variant looks great, but after such a limited range with the Mk4s I am currently astounded at the number of options available in the Mk5 range. I spose another one won't hurt.

We may even get more derivatives lol

If the MPV market picks up the Touran would fit well here ;)

Perhaps the Touran would be better to bring in than the wagon???????

Do we still get the Zafira?

Actually the Ford MPV, C-Max, or whatever it's called, with the Focus XR5 engine in it could be good. j:

No the only small MPVs here are the Caddy Life, Citroen Picaso & Renault Scenic.

:D

The 7 seat Touran doesn't have a spare wheel. That pretty much rules it out for Australia...

I have to admit, even though I am not the biggest fan of some recent VW styling, the estate looks absolutely stunning ! Wonder what the other changes compared to the Golf sedan will be ...

I like the Mk III & IV better. They are styled more like wagons, not a family fastback.

I think that it is long overdue, but I still prefer the normal tail lights of the MkV over those in the first picture.

Now VW just need to give it the R5 engine and 4Motion - SWEEEEEET :D

Bugger, asked a few dealers about when/if and they all said no way  . Gone with the Caddy now (wonder why they don't offer the 2.0TDI as an option in the Caddy:?: )

This is the same car that is going on sale in America and Canada early in 2008 as the Jetta Sports Wagon.
The Jetta name should be used here as it has brand loyalty second to none...and is more upmarket and modern than Golf Variant.
Bring it on VW...I am sure it will sell well.

Yeah I agree with JP, with the turbo + AWD you can't go wrong. Thats why I'm so keen on some of the skoda's at the moment.

Plus it looks the part too! Good link...

Ahhh. There's hope for all us "Family Guys" out there, as opposed to all you young whippersnappers and your coilovers and fish and APR chips, etc. Now I'm off to the RSL...:D

VGA still considering Wagon variant of the Mk5 possibly to be called Jetta Wagon to bring more sales and emotion to the nameplate.
