I now have a set of fully adjustable Koni Coilovers in my S3. These are currently retailing in UK for £950, which would probably be around $1M retail in Oz!!

Purchased them secondhand of an Ozaudi member.

http://www.vwwatercooled.com.au/forums/images/imported/2010/02/KoniCoilovers-1.jpg

Had it installed by a suspension shop for $350 incl wheel alignment.

Its been dropped about 45mm all round and sits with a 10mm gap to the tyres.

The rebound settings are very firm and i can feel all the undulations and irregularities in the road surface, but its still rides a lot better over the bigger bumps - the OEM suspension really crashed hard over the same bumps.

Of course, it look 1000% better as well!

Next on my shopping list, a set of 18" rims

I had a set of these on my mkv. Even with them set very low and quite stiff they were extremely comfortable compared to other coilover setups ive seen. Nice compromise for a daily driver really.

Looks good and sounds good, I'm jealous we didn't get that version of the A3 here!

cheers Chris, I would never have considered the A3, but the S3 is a whole different league.

You guys also have the better TT. Man between the A3 and TT platform options available across the sea, I'm wanting to move!

I was on the fence about it before, but I think you just sealed the deal!

Hey gareth_oau, may I ask where did you get your suspension installed? As you'd know, the price they charge for springs are ridiculous and they don't seem to like it when you buy your springs elsewhere - threatening they won't guarantee anything and could take longer than expected, more hours = more $$, the usual sales pitch :(
