I made enquiries to VW Australia when it was first reviewed in CarPoint and they said they had no plans to bring it to Aus. :???:

They're telling Porkies ;)

If you talk to Guy H he'll confirm it, he has the contacts I believe :D

and if you look in Volkswagen Magazine published by VW, the TSI is the main feature, hence for the arrival.

VW play the ::I know nothing:: game ;)

That's the same with the 125kw diesel Golf, the salesperson said that they have never heard of that particular model.

Thanks for that, Ben.

Updated :D

New news is Martin Winterkorn has revived the Golf Cabrio and its due for release around 2010 overseas.

What about the Eos I hear you say ? it will move a class up and be based on the Passat platform and is slated for a 2013 release overseas.

Source is Georg Kacher from CAR.

like to see them all but...most wont come. ull see some but the market dictates what we get as does what the overseas markets demand for the more popular market, but i can tell u what we are getting here now is a lot better than before and WILL get better

The Eos is already based on a Passat platform, just shorter and narrower.

It is not Golf or Jetta.

From what I've heard and read in the media it has a Passat rear end combined with a Golf front.

Hey there, is there any info on the 2010 Polo AWD??

Yes, it will basically be a small version of the Tiguan and share similar components with the future Skoda Yeti small offroader.

Not to my knowledge.

I think VW think it would enroach on the Golf GTI and plus if the rumours are true the Audi S1 will have the AWD and they don't like to share :duh:

Yep, do a search on "GTI-R" or "Mk 6" or "Mk VI". Hi-po 2.0l turbo petrol (200Kw + ?) and AWD. Touted as a (sort-of) replacement for the Golf R32 (which is no longer being made/imported to Oz).

RE a previous post, the Golf V is on sale now, no taxes, delivery charges etc :)

What do you peeps think are the chances of the Bluemotion range making it to our shores? Do you think they'll wait for the next gen Polo to come out here? Or do you think the Polo will come with a 1.4 TDI and that'll be good enough for them to keep up with the others?

Cheers

BlueMotion will debut in either Golf VI or 2009 Polo format but we will eventually get the whole BlueMotion label throughout the whole range.

Next Polo will have a 1.6 CR TDI; more info to be released around May/April (Leipzig Show hopefully).

:driver:

Feb/March depending on current Mk5 stock ;)

GTI expect early next year after UK & Japan have received it basically.

Yeah, same.

This is the one I'm not so sure about. I'd say your timing is right, but there's a few people suggesting we might see the Mk6 GTI in October 09.

Hope they're right. :driver:

It also depends on whether VGA have put a solid order in and whether other markets have been seriously affected by the current financial climate.

Remember we received the Polo GTI first and R50 due to VGA having a solid order ;)

The Golf VI will be launched to the Australian market at next month's Melbourne International Motor Show (27 Feb-9 March). :driver:

I didn't think there was a motorshow in Melb this year due to the Syd/Melb thing...and Syd has only just had theirs.

Nevermind just saw that the melb one will be the only one this year....they might want to space them apart if the next one after isn't until late 2010 in Sydney.

Melbourne is on this year, Sydney is not (or unlikely to be (http://www.ausmotive.com/2008/12/03/sydneys-annual-motor-show-in-doubt.html))...

There will always be limited editions and if the market is right it could happen, we have not even seen production GTI and R yet.

EDIT added & GT up! and Polo R WRC Street to the list.
