LDV R5

Hi all.
Hoping that I can get some advice and details from those in the know about getting a tow bar fitted to my MY06 R5.
What sort of costs should I be expecting?
Is aftermarket (Hayman Reese) worthwhile or is OEM the way to go?
Any advice/information would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Hi and welcome to the forum LDV R5.
I personally prefer VW tow bar for trouble free use. I'm sure that there were discussions about tow bar while ago in Touareg section, just you use the search function or go back a few pages. :)

LDV R5,
you can go with Hayman Reese for the bar if you want but the electronics must be done with Volkswagen parts. Because of the computer setup aftermarket can cause problems which will costs you in the end.
Remember you don't just tap into your rear lights for your trailer lighting, it also includes bulb checking, ABS adjustments when trailer is fitted, alarm included for trailer and transmission adjustments.
There are stories out there which have told of fried Touaregs because someone had their local guy do it for a couple of $100 cheaper.

Damo,
Yes Hayman and reece are ok they have been up graded to the 350kg down load and 3500Kg pull.
You need a black box installed as well so computer and stability program know there is a trailer.
