I want to get my 8v head polished, ported, flowed and bigger valves fitted. Is there anyone in Oz with golf experience? Anyone have experience/know the cost?

There's this company from UK called Head-FX or somthing like that which do performance head work you could possibly contact if interested. Wouldnt have any idea who could do it on Oz.

i just done my mk1 8v
already had big valves and it cost me about
$700 to have them fitted and a port and polish
they are 40.5 mm intake and 36 mm exhaust
which is pretty much max
they fitted new larger valve seats and kline
valve guides. most good engine reconditioners
could do the job
best to already have a cam so when they do it
they can shim the buckets for you at the same time

they have to machine some of the head face away
to fit the valves in

I already have a 270deg cam in the car. It has hydraulic lifters.

Was that $700 all up including valves? WHere was that?

no already had valves
so it would about 700 + valves
adds up quick
having the seats put in is the most expensive part 400
then a port and polish is around 150 to 200
kline valve stem guides 120
then it will depend quality of valve mine are
manly s/steel not cheap but second head they
have been in done alot of work
