Yep, finally, took delivery of my new Passat CC. Though I had some regrets about not ticking a few other options (mainly the panoramic roof and adaptive cruise), the car did arrive with all the other toys I ordered including RNS510 with GPS, reverse cam, Dynaudio, self park, cooling seats and premium bluetooth integration. So far I don't miss any of the options that I did not tick, in the slightest! The premium blue tooth works well with my iphone! The dynaudio is fantastic.

Special thanks to Barloworld who IMHO thus far has proven to be a great dealer!

Having driven many other "nice" cars before and now that I have had the opportunity to take a nice long drive, I was actually quite surprised how "nice" the Passat CC is. It almost reminds me of Audi meets Bentley in many respects. Not surprising given that both are owned by VW!

Performance is very linear, nice note from the V6.

Of special note was the fact that during my long drive, it was a hot day and the aircon did a magnificent job of keeping the cabin cool (something I was a little worried about - guess the fact that I didn't get the pana roof helped too lol!)

So far I have had quite a few compliments, and dare I say a few potential customers too! Anyway, thanks for everyone commenting to all my previous posts so far. I will definitely keep everyone informed about my continuing CC experience!

I would really love to see a CC convertible down the track.

PS - Merry Christmas everyone (couldn't find a Christmas emoticon!)

Nice thought! And I want to see (and would certainly buy) an .:R version!

Thanks PA. The Smiley's didn't come up! Anyway, so far, the car is definitely exceeding my expectations (somewhat surprisingly as I am known to be fussy). Don't know if its too late for you, but tick the dynaudio option (though the stock system is nice too)! Awesome.

I got the smilies from another website.

Not a big fan of music and driving. Prefer the peace and quiet of an engine doing 6,000 rpm as you click it up another gear. (Years ago I used to be a sound engineer for some bands.)

Your premium BT works with iPhone, which is good - it appears they are using a different one finally. Can you tell me - does the Bluetooth integrate with the RNS510? I.e. phone number pad on screen, address book, etc, and MFD shows phone calls? How much was the BT option?

What I'd really like is the part number for the Bluetooth that you have, but that will be difficult without a VAGCOM scan... :(

COngratulations on the new car - sounds very cool. They are a very nice car... :D

Thank u. I am able to make and receive calls and yes, it integrates well. It syncs with my address book too, displaying on the Multi function display. It flashes up 'kufatek' though which I think is an aftermarket system. I am pretty sure it was described as "premium blue tooth" on the invoice. Have to check my invoice, but I think it cost me circa $700.

Ah...so it is a Kufatec Fiscon.
And the dealers are selling this as a "Premium" option, hopefully they are not telling you that this is a Genuine OEM Vag Part...

That said, I have (and so do many other) the Kufatec Fiscon and I think it is brilliant!

About time... the Kufatec works really well. Although mine will occasionally drop the present numbers since doing the 2660 update :(

Post some pics of the new baby!

Congrats on the arrival. I have had my TDi CC for 3 weeks now and can't fault it. Brilliant cruiser and sipping at ~ 5.5l/100km.
I had the Kufatec installed and love it. Fully integrates into the RNS510 and connects to both my nokia and Iphone with out any problems. Cost $895 installed. When I ordered mine in August the premium bluetooth offered by VW was $2000 so if you managed a Kufatec from the factory at $700 then you have done well.
Enjoy the driving mate - I had the V6 CC for a weekend and they had to wrestle the keys off of me.

Yep, finally, took delivery of my new Passat CC.

You'll enjoy; however, one thing I'd like to know: do you get any sun reflection from the mirror-like housing around the DSG gear-shift?

The sun reflection is driving me nuts at the moment. I have actually put a cloth around the gear-shift to stop it. I spoke to the dealer who tells me I will have to live with it. It might be my driving position as I'm tall and have the seat back a fair way, but am I the only one?

Rocket36
21-12-2009, 08:06 PM
I'm 6'2" and also have the seat a fair way back for just cruising around comfortably. Have had the reflection you're talking about hit me a couple of time since picking up the car in April but nothing serious or to be overly concered about. Are your windows tinted?

drbass
21-12-2009, 08:28 PM
Ahhh, "The Reflection".

Been discussed as a "glaring oversight" even before R36s were around  (and a long time before the CC).

Quite annoying in summer, not such an issue in winter. I have the seat in a sensible position for my height (171).

Windowtinting won't do a thing - it's sunlight coming through the windscreen that's causing it. Of course, if you have plenty of bugs and dust on the windscreen it might not be such a problem ... .

The R36 has the same issues (something I suspected from seeing the interior) -- I get bad reflection off the top of the dash on facing the sun. I also get reflection off the gear surrounds onto the drivers window in certain light as well.

Bit of a pain :(

Thanks for all the replies everyone.

Yep I checked the invoice and the Kufatec was advertised as a "non genuine accessory" though definitely described as "premium bluetooth". Confirmed that it was circa $700 too.

Re transmission glare, have not noticed it... yet!!! I'm sure I will now lol!

Am trying to post up some pics - anyone got a link to an easy way I can do this lol?

Hey Leagle,

Congrats on the new car!:banana::banana::banana:

An easy way to put pics up is join photobucket.com.au
After you've uploaded your pic to photobucket, put your mouse over the pic you want to attach and a lil box will appear, go down to the bottom and copy the "IMG" one. Then past that link onto your post in this forum.
Cheers,

Can you remove the shiny bits?
If so, get a can of plastic-dip and spray them over and you end up with a non-reflective surface.

That's a fair few options, not worth ticking all the boxes as the car ends up costing a fortune and you don't get much of it back down the track.

Now you just need to find an R-Line kit from Europe/America and it will be perfect.

Yep i wasn't saying you shouldn't get options but the main thing is that you enjoy it.. I prob spent more on mods than options but next time would order a few more things from the factory quite possibly.

The interlagos style wheels are standard for the V6 and look great imho. I used to have a white Audi A4 with Oz alloy wheels that looked fantastic, but I reckon the stock wheels are so nice on the V6 CC that I wheel leave them alone (sorry about the pun).

The R Line kit looks great. But I will wait until VW does a proper R CC, hopefully by the time I am in the market again in 3-4 years down the track ;-)

There is a CC R-Line however it's only in EU and America and it's only cosemtic upgrades as far as i can tell since the CC already runs the .:R36 engine.

There is no plans for a proper .:R CC

Thanks Plasmod.

I believe from your previous posts that you ordered the adaptive cruise control though which would be very nice to have. I really didn't think about how useful it would be when I ordered my car.

I think if I ordered the CC again, I would now tick all options (even the interior lighting package - lol!) though I know I would suffer at resale time. Its just that sort of car. It feels like it should be driving itself. Self park has definitely impressed a few colleagues and friends of mine.

Having said all of that, all the options are really just that - options. The standard car is fantastic as it is.

In fact so good is the CC, that I only miss the options that I didn't tick when I am actually NOT driving the car! (Illogical, I know).

Hey Antman, I finally noticed the glare you are talking about. I was actually in the CBD when I noticed it. It was around midday so I assume you have to be in the right direction and time of day to get annoyed by it. And yes, it was annoying (till I turned the corner). However, I have found a very simple solution for it. I placed my iphone on the top part of the transmission and the glare was gone! OK not the best place to put your phone, but its a temp solution.

Or you can:
1) Get some wet and dry sandpaper and scratch the shiny bit to end up with a non-reflective "brushed" surface
2) Get a $4 can of plastci dip and cover the shiy bit.

Hey Leagle,

Congrats on the xmas present (just caught your thread here!) :)

The glare, that got to me too... although a pair of sunnies does help. I did the iPhone trick as well :D

The kufatec premium bluetooth! it's about time. I wonder if dealers will retro-fit it seeing as it appears to be the now "premium bluetooth option" from VW? might have to check-in with my local dealership.

I got the same colour as you did, all the same options minus dynaudio but with front-assist and adaptive cruise control.

Actually:) I settled on an 09 Iron Grey CC without any options (besides the metallic paint) ~ 3 wks ago. The original car that i wanted had been delayed for another 4 months which made it into a 8 month wait for a car which i thought ridiculous so i packed up at one dealer & went to the next....as it is they had an iron grey on display. No options whatsoever so i am missing it all:)

I got them to install the skoda uhv for me however which worked a treat. I am also getting the rns off ebay with the cd changer. It's funny how much you can save however some options still cannot be fitted on this way:(

So far on an optionless car

Passat CC Jan 09 V6 Iron Grey (40kms on the dial on delivery)

RNS 510 (off ebay) - 1100

RNS 510 sat nav software V2 ( off ebay) - 350

CD Changer - 250

Cd changer installation bits & pieces - 217

Additional shopping bag hook in the trunk - 27

Installation?????

Still can't get a reverse cam or climate seats or adaptive cruise control fitted.....saw the radar module on ebay for the adaptive cruise control but probably just one of many parts. I am sure missing the options you have got Leagle:brutal::brutal: thanks to the dealer who mucked it up for me:brutal:

Still i am enjoying the iron grey:) A very good drive...hmmm did i hear there are 09 DSG problems & recalls? Doh! Better call VW tom to find out if my car is affected!:troll:

Yeah, service campaign 37E8 I believe. Apparently the clutch temperature can be interpreted incorrectly by the DSG gearbox and basically initiates procedures to begin to protect itself, with the final end result being disengaging Drive.

I believe it's just a software fix and can be done relativley quickly depending on how busy they are. Mine was done last time I had the car in.

I think VW are just being precautionary, I suspect that there are many DSG owners out there that have never had a problem even on spirited drives. Its probably something they saw in Europe or the US and then decided to get a global campaign out on it...

Btw when did you bring your car in for a first service. I was told that the first service is a yr after buying the car but remembered back to my toyota & honda days that they usu get us to service the car in the first month after buying it, oil change etcetc. Just want to be sure i am told the right thing:P

If you haven't had the car in to get the DSG looked at I would book it in with them.

Haven't had the car in for a formal service as yet as I think it's only needed every 12 months or 15,000km's if I recall correctly. The car was originally in to get the MDI looked at, the guys sorted the MDI, did the DSG service campaign all within a day and gave me a courtesy car to boot. Was a good experience overall for me.

Psyk,

I have had the problem happen to me a couple of times once on the freeway (on cruise control), another time just sitting at a set of lights went to take off gearbox would not go into gear (flashing Neutral in MFD and had to restart car to overcome problem) and the last time was driving up a mountain. This occurred a couple of months ago and last time I took it into VW I mentioned it and VW ended up replacing a sensor in the DSG gearbox. Maybe a couple of months ago VW were not aware of any software issues. Anyway since the sensor replacement, I have had no problems with DSG. I still got the letter and will get the software upgrade.

So Leagle, how is the Christmas present going? Did you get a chance to take it on a good run?

I took mine down the South Coast several times through the National Park via Stanwell Park (over Sea Cliff bridge) and up Bulli Pass. The cornering is fantasic, especially on the Sport suspension setting and using the paddles to change. It's just a lot of fun.

Hi everyone - Happy New Year!

Antman, glad to see you are having fun in the Passat CC. The South Coast drive is s a nice route, lots of twists around Kangaroo Valley too if you go that way. You should go North up towards Lithgow too - along Bells of line Road, very nice drive. But watch out for police etc.

Unfortunately, I got booked for speeding - double demerits - in my "other car" of all things. Still have my license fortunately but it puts a dampener on having any fun in the new CC :(

Conversely, still have well under 1000 kays on the CC so still treating her with kid gloves, keeping revs well under etc. One nice thing about the CC is that cruising suits it very well - particularly in comfort mode lol.
