After digging around and avoiding all the obvious places to look, I found Volkswagen DE and USA both have photos of the facelifted Jetta on their sites.

I love the new Instrument Panel and seats, they look fantastic!

Here are a few from VW Germany:

The exterior is identical to the MY09. Enjoy :)

What's with the fold-down passenger seat?

What's with the fold-down passenger seat?
Human Garbage Disposal :P

I'd say it's for cargo, Ikea type cargo that's 2km long.

That fold down seat I think is a pretty good idea!

Had to move fairly long pieces of timber and they just don't fit properly within the car!

I am taking delivery of my new Jetta next week. It arrived on the ship which docked in Sydney on the 24th OCT. I am told it will be MY10. Does this mean I am getting the new interiors or the old one?

Will the VIN number reveal anything?

Thanks

Cool mate, it should be the facelifted if it's a MY10. But who knows given it wasn't advertised at all..

I originally was thinking, ok, hopeing the Jetta 5.5 (MY10) would atleast have the updated interior & front end of the recently released Golf 6, however it seems the Jetta 5.5 due for release sometime in November will only have the interior update (& not all of it compared to Golf6)...... Not happy Jan...:( As you can see from the photoshopped pic below, updated with the Golf 6 front end it looks damn fine...

Chatting with macca, seems the next redesigned Jetta (mk6) won't be till late 2010/2011.....Then again the pic below could be a close representation of the Jetta 6.......

Actually I think the MkV front end suits the Jetta better. The MKVI front end is more designed to suit a hatchback. Just my opinon, as a Jetta owner

I agree, the Jetta front suits the wagon better too.

I hate it when they bring in the new models.
I like to have the latest ... not second latest.

Seriously though, I can't think of anything more I need in a car. I might just drive this till it dies. It will feel good after it's paid off to just pocket my car allowance:cool:

I reckon the Jetta is one of those cars your kids will pass onto their kids, it feels like it'll never die (well the manual models anyways).

Have just seen images of what the 2011 Jetta 6 should look like...
The side is very much Jetta 5,with a sloped roofline similar to the Bora.

The front is Golf 6,but a big highlight is the rear, which is very much like a Jetta 5 with exposed exhaust pipes,Audi A4/BMW 3 series shaped lights.

If anyone wants a peek,go to www.vwvortex.com,
and go to forums,Volkswagen, and then the GOLF6/JETTA 6 SECTION.

The artacle is titled 2011 Jetta.American website.

This might be my next new car,how exciting...

Great find there Anthony.

Here's the direct link. (http://www.leftlanenews.com/volkswagen-jetta-2011.html#more-20762) I really don't like the 3 Series tail lights..

Looks hot!! Though I'd be disappointed if the Oz version doesn't use the LED tail lights (I think the US version MKV doesn't anyway).

.. and yes, finally they mentioned the possibility of AWD that has been missing from Jetta range :DancingLine:

DionM

Looks very generic

The tail lights are one of the design highlights of the Jetta and while I know those 3-series type lights are just a mimicing of the style of the MKVI Golf, it makes it look boring.

Ah well, shall be holding onto ours for some years yet! At about 4000kms p.a. it should last about 30 years

2010 model looks the same.

http://www.carsales.com.au/news/2009/small-passenger/volkswagen/jetta/2010-volkswagen-jetta-17368

Interior changes, specification tweaks. New entry level model - 1.6 TDI for $28,990 with claimed fuel efficiency of 4.9L/100kms. 2.0 TSI is $38.990, I guess the slightly cheaper price is due to lowering of import duties?

- 1.6 TDI 5-speed manual: $28,990
- 1.6 TDI 7-speed DSG: $31,490
- 1.4 TSI 6-speed manual: $30,990
- 1.4 TSI 7-speed DSG: $33,490
- 2.0 TDI 6-speed DSG: $35,990
- 2.0 TSI Highline 6-speed DSG: $38,990
- 2.0 TDI Highline 6-speed DSG: $38,990

more like final model year before Mk6 ;)

Those Mk6 illustrations are way to soft for the direction VW is going its basically a mishmash of Golf 6 and Passat.

At the launch,VW announced they have sold 12000 Jettas locally, and are happy with the Jettas sucess, but seem to be getting far more aggressive ,with much more competitive pricing, new features, and new engines and a wide choice of models.
The Jetta must be the best value for money model that VW offers, and one of the best value for money cars on the market in general.

I've actually just realised VGA released an entry level 2010 Jetta 77TDI by DionM's post ... hmmm... 0-100 km/h in 12 sec for $28,990?

IMHO I don't see the value in that unless if you are just looking at fuel economy of diesel. I'd go for the 118TSI for $2000 extra and yet only 1.3sec slower than the 147TSI :driver:

I think they are hitting the fleet market as well. My friend can pick a 118TSI as a company car (or a Mazda 6 or Liberty). They used to get Commodore Acclaims.

Not all about speed. It's a nice car with low fuel economy for a low price. Ticks a lot of boxes for a lot of people. I wouldn't buy one, but I can see who would.

I thought the same thing when I saw that list. But it's a good way for VW to enter the niche that is large cars at small prices. Sure it's not quick but that's alot of car for that price (given it has the same equipment as the MY09s).

Found this (http://www.caradvice.com.au/47654/2010-volkswagen-jetta-review/) tonight. Good to see they've finally introduced a 125TDI as an alternative to the flagship 147TSI (not that I ever had anything against that).

There's a few guys on here with chipped twincharger golfs. I think it gets up to about 150 kw/ 300 Nm.

Similar power to a chipped polo GTI, but the jetta is about 300-400kg heavier.

Hi,
Picked up my Jetta yesterday and guess what, it is a MY10 model. I will post photos soon but so far the interior changes I have been able to spot from MY09 are as follows.

1. Front parking sensors.
2. New stereo and AC panel.
3. New stearing wheel with different buttons.
4. Black trims instead of silver.
5. Full screen MFD with white display (instead of red).
6. The fuel and Oil gauges are inside the speedo meter and RPM meter.

Very excited. Odd thing was that the manaul provided was for the older model so I have to fight to get an updated manual. I also got a VW bluetooth and it works like a charm. The mic is also installed inside the top light panel so you cannot see.

More later.

Regards

Yes the audio unit will display a car with distance graphic bars on all the 4 corners of the car. As you approach an obstacle, the distance bars go darker. Very cool indeed.

Just use a free image hosting site like: http://www.imageshack.us/. Select your files from your PC then hit the pic button and paste the links in.

Sounds like a few nice updates on the MY10, Congrats.

HI,
Thanks for all the compliments. People have been amazed how good this car looks and is. It has the TSI badge with the Red S and I at the end.

I am coming out of an old Toyota Corolla 1996 which has been great over the years and still is. Very reliable but we thought of changing for a while and always liked the Bora. Hence ended up with Jetta. ONly looked at the Honda Accord Euro but that compared nothing to the Jetta. I am not too much into cars but liked the Jetta the day I looked at it. The colour was wife's choice (she has good taste :-) ).

Cheers

The numbers light up around the outside of the control, it also comes up on the head unit.

It appears we may have a few closet interior designers or female shoe wearers on this forum because they seem to be describing you car more as art or fashion accessory, or an ornament. It looks like all Jetta's well designed and engineered. Beautiful is a stretch and but if thats the general consensus we'll run with it.

Good decision with the purchase, you will find that once you have had a taste of the VW product it's almost impossible to go back to mainstream Japan. Welcome and we look forward to hearing how you progress with the Jetta.

I also noticed that the exhaust pipes are turned towards ground so that you don't see them at the back. The bumper does not have a space cut out of pipes anymore as they turn down behind the bumper. I actually had to bend down to notice them.

Congrats on the new Jetta...:cool46:

From memory this has always been the case on Diesel & lower spec petrol Jetta's. Only the turbo FSi (147kw) has the twin pipes extending through the rear bumper valance. No way they would remove that feature from the top spec model. Still yet to see if the new top spec 125kw Diesel has the twin pipes visible....

Nice car, Maneesh. You'll notice LOTS of Jettas on the road now.
If you look really carefully, some will have a Europecar sticker bottom centre of the rear window.

If you see AND hear the same coloured Jetta with a dark tint around your area, it could be my TDI. :) Next month it will have the chrome rearview mirrors, so that you know it's me - and maybe the BBS wheels will be on, too.
