My brother have problem with thermo fans on his VR6.
As soon he turns ignition on, the thermo fans are on ( full speed) and they won't turn off at all until he switch the ignition off.
Same thing when he start the car they are on all the time until the car is off.
We try to replace "fan control box" ( next to reservoir bottle), same thing, then we disconected thermo switch on radiator ..still working..
A/C is working fine...
releys??..
try to play with them a bit ...??? but they still working.
I told my brother to leave them on...one day the will eventualy stop working...
Can't really tell what is the problem?
Is anybody can help?
Thanks
Oli

Im still thinking the fan ECU is Kaput . Any Vag com results ?
Also make sure A/C is off as this will turn the fans on !

ive had my control box module (thingo) next to the reservoir bottle burn out and the fans stayed on when the car was off untill the battery went flat . had to get a new control box.
