days of my life
1) day i got to drive my first mk4 r32 at work  and fell in love
2) day i got told by my service advisers that they are going to call me the no.1 tech as they've never seen someone with some much passion & knowlage for vw like me before, which made me pritty happy :)
3) then today i lost my licence, i went out on a road test in a mk4 1.6L golf when a unmarked cop car pulled me over ( i was doing nothing wrong or stuiped at all ) & started being a smart as to me & trying to make me confess to not having my seat belt on when i had it on the whole time, he ended up doing me for not having my licence on me (was in my toolbox back at work)
so i have offically lost all respect for these police :(
well that was my story
hows your week been?
.
Oh man....how long have you lost your license for?
Thats really, really harsh. Is there anyway you can appeal it?
Glad to hear you're going well at work!
Its nice to get praise if you work hard, even better to get recognition. Well done

I would take that to court on the basis that the licence is required for work purposes and he was a tool. Tell them he threatened you if you did not confess etc etc, spin a yarn - it may work.
I had a 1.6 MKIV, they are surprisingly nippy! ;)
Hope it works out.

I thought you had a day to supply your drivers licence to the local police station if you don't have it on you at the time.

that's rough. how long did you lose it for? i always thought that if you got caught without carrying your licence that you had an amount of time (24 hours?) to go down to the station and show them. :S edit: sounds like it
here's how my week is going...

jumped out of those trees onto the road about 5m in front of my car, in a 100 zone. there was a car coming the other direction, so couldn't swerve. had to drag his fat a** off the road. only cosmetic damage thankfully. could have been worse i guess.

dude, you can't seriously have lost ur licence for not having it on you??
i think when your on opens you have a period of time to present it to the cop shop. maybe it's a different story if ur on your P's, but surely it's not a loss-of-licence offence.
or did you mean you had "lost" (or couldn't find) ur licence when you went for the test drive and thus went without it??

I can sympathise with you dude. Lost my license for a month a couple of weeks ago. It was my fault and all. It was torture, but such is life. Suck it up and move on I say and stay positive.
Ouch poor mk2.

Get a beak, go to court, if the circumstances are as you describe you can plead before the magistrate that the policeman was unreasonable and ask the court for mercy as it is your work that will suffer and that the ticket was issued whilst you were conducting your work. If you stick to your guns and behave politely and tell the magistrate that the cop tried to intimidate you may be lucky and have a work license issued. Many years ago something similar happened to me but the two coppers flogged me.
I lodged a formal complaint, ran it through the courts and spent the money defending it. By the end of it I had the two coppers on the run, had two of three charges dropped, minimum penalty on the last one and a mark on the coppers file. Once the magistrate sees that you are prepared to stand your ground and that you are credible you might and I say might get some mercy. Don't let them get away with it cause they will just bully the next guy

On the up side, congratulations on your work and your employer noting how enthusiastic you are.
Lucky you getting to drive a mkIV R32.
That was the first thing that got me interested in the VW scene.

Evidently not :(...
You're right dude, that is a new low. To 'those' coppers out there, what could possibly be going through your mind when you decide to be a dirty pig with authority issues? What the hell is wrong with you?
If it were me I would have reported the incident back to work and gotten them to defend the case with you. I'd take it to court and tell the judge the cop harassed you and attempted entrapment in the instance with your seat belt, and you know that the rules state if you don't have your license on you then you can show it to a cop station within x time.
Fight hard dude, bring that ass of a pig down.

x2. A mate today told me about your situation Chris and you should fight to the death!! Not having your license on you doesn't prove shize if you ask me. You should at least have had the opportunity to take your license to the station.
I've read stories about writing a nice letter, that can sometimes melt their heart and let you off. Could be worth a try given you weren't really doing anything illegal (so to speak).

now that just plain sux i wont say i completely disagree with some of the p plater laws out there. but this one takes the cake you should have at least 24 hours to produce it maybe then incur there wrath. this is a typical case of a public servent abusing there power . it may cost you money but id definatly fight it. with luck you may get your licence back and hopefully put a blemish on this clowns record. should make him think twice before trying this on someone else.
