View Full Version : What other cars projects do you have??

OK so we're all on here because we have a similar interest in water cooled VW's. I'm always interested and sometimes amazed to hear about what projects people are working on and what interests in cars they have, so lets hear it!
what other cars are you interested in and what other projects do you have aside from those within the VW stable...

What are you currently working on, or what do you have hidden away in the garage waiting for some loving. It can be a run of the mill daily driver that you just love, a race car project, full blown show car or something thats as rare as rocking horse turds, basicaly anything that you have a passion for and are currently tinkering with!

Theres already a thread for things that inspire you so lets keep this to cars you have not cars you wish you had!

I'll kick it off:

I've tinkered with all sorts of cars and to be honest I just love cars in general so Im not one eyed anything. I have a very mixed up looking garage at the moment and about to get even more confused when my golf VR6 arrives tomorrow, but the 1 type of car that has always stirred a fire in my belly is a rotary..

Here are my 2 current rotas:

72 series 1 RX2 13b bridgeport
http://www.vwwatercooled.com.au/forums/images/imported/2009/09/RX2drivewaysm-1.jpg
The RX2 is longer on the road, Im about to start stripping the car down to do a race car build.

74 series 2 RX4 coupe 13b bridgeport

This is my weekender had her for about a year now, had a dead 13bpp in it when I got it, I put a new 13bbp with 51mm weber in and have just finished running it in, also hid most of the wiring in the engine bay, i wanted to keep it simple so no big wheels and crazy fast turbo setups just some old skool styling which I love.

i have a 65 type 3 notchback hidden away awaiting full air ride, billet 17" wheels and a 2.7lt porsche motor, but that wont be touched for a few years :(

also got a mk1 cabrio project with 2lt 16v turbo that im currently working on atm

p.s love the RX2 mate, i had a rx3 coupe rolling shell with custom mount 9inch hangin out the back i got given to me when i was 17 but thats long sold on

Toyota 4age powered Arrow Sei.
Just about finished my first season of supersprinting and cannot recomend it more, good friendly competition, decent amount of track time and fairly inexpensive if you don't have any issues. The biggest cost is the upgrade urge something that affects us all...
and before anyone asks the bottle in the grille was a temporary overflow for the radiator!
