When we bought our Toledo GTI (2L ABF 16v) it had 17" Chrome Mags on it!

Not really our cup of tea, but the 5 stud wheel pattern kinda limits options for change, I have heaps of 4 stud wheels.

It also seems to not be as economical as I would like 8.5 being average consumption figures for the MFA!

Anyway today I went to look at some Mk4 golf wheels from ebay. 5 Stud and looked good, but only 14inch with massive tyres. 185/70/14 I reckon they were an inch taller than my 17s with 205/40/17s.

Couldnt bring myself to buy em, so I had a rummage in the shed and found some BBS 15s off a Mk3 VR6. 205/50/15. They also looked nearly as big as the 17s with skinny tyres, but I slapped em on the car anyway.

It makes the car look a bit more conservative or ordinary, but WOW to drive it acellerates faster, has better ride comfort and best of all, the fuel consumption is heaps better. I achieved 5.5L per 100 on a decent run and 6.3 if I boot it. I`m pretty happy for now.

Maybe 16" BBS`s would make me truly happy ;)

you've got some great economy figures there for a 2L 16v the TDi get about 5 and your not far off!

There should be a few mk4 gti wheels floating around . Did the 16v Seat Toledo get 5 stud standard or has it been converted ?

The 16v Toledo is a GTI spec car. It got the GTI / VR6 spec Brakes, Interior and Wheels as standard. I dont know what the original wheels looked like, as it came to me with chromies.

Yeah I reckon I`ll keep an eye out for some 16" 5x100s.

With that kind of fuel economy I'd think so to!!!

How much would the 16" BBS cost I'd like them for the vr6 aswell.

My mate has a set for $500 for 5, but they need tyres. PM Oli ;)
16inch BBS`s are the hardest to find.

I know where there is another set that need redrilling, but I might get onto it soon.

If you have smaller wheels it is 6l / 80km ;)

I can get it below 6 if i drive below 80 like a girl everywhere. :o

On a realistic drive, 6.3 is more like it.

Bootting it hard, I can use 8. :D

The old 8v used 7L / 100 on the way over to Canberra doing 140 all the way. On track it uses about 18L / 100

What was the oem tyre on the SEAT matt?

I dont know for the 16v mate.

For the 2L 8vs its 185/60/14.

I suspect the 16v may have had 15s, probably the same as VR6 to clear the brakes, which would probably be 195/50/15 or 205/50/15 what the wheels looked like is anyones guess, this one came to me with 17" chromies and I have never seen another.

195/45 16s were original size on the 16vs according to my handbook

I managed to sell the original Chrome Wheels that came on out Toledo through Ebay and the spent the money on these 2 Piece BBS rims from a golf 4.

They are 16s and had no tyres. Foryunately Dave had donated some tyres to me when he upgraded, so I slapped em on for now. :D They are 195/45/16.

I really want 205/50/16, but I think they look good at the moment.

Those wheels look the same as were fitted to the mk3 anniversary in the UK. I saw one in adelaide last week which surprised me.
I think they were 205 or 215s on the Golf

Thanks bro. We are not the only ones to think so. After a month or more of trying to sell it, two interested parties on the same day. Sweet.
