Bit short at only 7 eps, but still good.

The budget cuts contributed to it mostly. There's still a few good episodes. The final episode with the final review of the Aston Martin was the best bit of the whole season.

Top Gear UK Season 14 will be on UK TV on November the 15th @ 9pm ..... probably hit the web a few hours later ... so only 6 days to go until a brand new season !!

I dunno it had its' moments. I think the worst thing they did was keep messing with the format constantly and keep trying to be like Top Gear. Back when it was purely a review based car show was pretty cool and enjoyable to actually see Tiff doing some truly awesome driving.

Also that Toyota Aigo doing the loop the loop is one of the coolest things I've ever seen.

Bring on the new series of TG. :D

Rowan Atkinson had a regular column in Car magazine back in the early '90s (when it was easily the best english language car magazine in the world - other columnists in that period included Alexi Sayle, PJ O'Rourke and James May).

In all honesty, i would just ditch the star segment and do another challenge for the first few seasons until it becomes popular enough to get valid stars who people actually know/care about.

With their 48minute episodes the star part takes up way too much time and i just skip it (even the uk one most of the time)

Ok, I will admit that I watched it last night to see if it was really any different. Unfortunately it was not. Rather than craft soemething that is unique but along the lines of the original, it ended up being a bit of a giggle session.

Now next week they are supposed to be testing the Amarok, and from the teaser given, they thrashed it somewhat. So, if someone offers you a really cheap Amarok, it might just be the one tested on TG-A.

It is almost as though they cannot find a car manufacturer willing to supply a vehicle for testing as with the first series, they damaged the vehicles that were supplied. As a result, they try and dream up rubbish. I mean, they used an old Falcon ute for Andy (Hamish and Andy) to do his celebrity lap.

I might watch it next week to see how the Amarok went, but will record it and FFW to the test and then skip the rest.

It can be hard to tell from the "snippets" you see on the show, but I was actually shocked at how bad the Forza 4 representation of Infineon is. I'm very familiar with that track, having watched races from there since it was called Sears Point and was lucious and green. But yeah, it's as if they've just looked at pictures of the track and made it up from there.... Forza people need to make sure they never look at iRacing... lol.

Series 18 of the UK version has begun.

The Christmas special (in India) was okay but seems to be the same forumal as every christmas special so lacked any genuine humour.

Ep 1 of the new series sees a tour across italy in cars that you would buy if you didn't want a F 458 Italia.
My pick would be the car May ends up with.
Also keep an eye out for flames in the tunnel and at Imola.

Skipped the 15-20 minute SIARPC segment as it bores me and i really think they could ditch it and replace it with another car review segment.

Can't say I'd want that car. Every review I've read suggests that, while it's extremely competent and has very high limits, it's lacking in character and flair. Frankly, the name is completely appropriate for the car. ;) Me, I'd have a 458 Italia.

I'll have a yellow 458 with black interior and yellow stitching plus a black aventador with black wheels orange calipers and a black interior with orange stitching, is that too much for birthday and Christmas combined?? Haha I wish

Would you like a set of complementary red brake discs with your Aventador?

Just finished watching it.
Pretty good episode all up.

Review of the SLS ragtop (i would much rather take the XKR)
Nascar segment was pretty interesting.
Investigating the Chinese auto market was also interesting.
Actually watched the star segment which was a first for about 4 seasons.

Episode 3 is up now.

James reviews sensible cars (i actually agree with him on the fact that the driving experience is the most enjoyable when close to the limit and that happens a lot easier in sensible cars)

Hammond and Clarkson attempt to choreograph a car chase for the upcoming sweeneey film (scripted and fairly dull as per usual "car chase filming skits")

SIARPC is Ryan Renalds - pretty funny but not a car nut.

Pretty average episode. Richard Hammond needs to stop the acting dumb thing. Not funny and a little bit cringe worthy.

Not one for the car fans.

It was good to see Clarkson take it seriously for once and tried to get a legitimate video, Hammond gotta stop acting like an idiot

Top Gear US series 3 begins today so it should be available tonight.

Now we have 2 shows per week for a short while :)
Shame the UK series ends after 6 or 7 episodes.

and I agree about Hammond, would be nice to have a proper car chase scene done by them for once rather than jokes all the time.

US Series 3 Ep 1 was a crackup.
Me and the GF were laughing for most of the episode.
Doesn't seem as forced as the UK version.

Star segment is shorter and hence, much more watchable.
Rutlege Wood has actually joined up on VWVortex and has been answering some questions about the show.

Ep 4 of the Uk version came out Monday.

Review of the Fisker Karma with the addition of a not so ecofriendly car.
Ferrari FF vs Bently Continental GT in winter.
Star segment was actually pretty good.
Mobility scooter challenge was okay but seemed really really staged and drawn out.

Ep 2 of the US version also came out (for some reason it is called S02 Ep10)
Comparison of new muscle cars
Modified Mustang's vs Pony's
Star was the guy from Rules of Engagement (Patrick W)

Ep 5 of the UK series is out.

Luxury coupe comparison (Masarati vs Merc)
Skoda vs jet man
SIARPC = Dr Who, was actually watchable this time.
The life and death of SAAB

Still pretty cool but you could tell the outcome.

UK series seems to do the same challenges just with different cars.

At least the US series does a few things differnetly and only re-hashes stuff the UK series did a few seasons ago.

No offence, but do we really need a running commentary of every episode? We all know that it's back on & the constant notifications/new posts are kind of annoying when you haven't seen the ep yet within 24hrs of it airing!
Just my 2c :)

Let's face it the budget cuts a few years back hit TG UK. Still a good watch, not completely what it once was, hopefully when the world comes out of economic doom and gloom it'll get a boost, wonder how they'll introduce fresh faces when it comes time. I used to think Tom Ford was more Top Gear than Fifth Gear, but for now I'm sure the current crew will hang on as long as they can.

Looking forward to more of the US one, they're finding their feet and I like the understated vibe.

Yeah it really lost a lot when they took a budget cut.
Since then it's just been re-hashing older episodes with newer cars (lets go to rome in supercars, lets pit a car vs a non car and see who wins etc)

Last night's ep of US seemed to flow really well and you can tell their chemistry is really starting to work.
Just a shame they only have 45 minutes instead of hte full hour like the UK series.

Vettel was way more entertaining when he was on in the last season!

Overall, disappointed with this series, not as entertaining as the last.

I reckon they only have a couple more seasons before they pull the plug on it unfortunately.
They are starting to recycle things from earlier seasons and with budget cuts and content starting to lack they can't really do much better.

More proof that they've jumped the shark.

They should give it a rest for a year and see if they can come up with something fresh, its getting old and tired. They've gone from that girl who was funny and adorable when you first met to one that is really starting to get annoying doing exactly the same things.

There were a few great seasons in the last ten years, Top Gear have taken car shows out of the dark ages. I think it's unfair to write it off now. Although, I'm starting to wonder when and how the change over to new cast members is going to happen, as much as I like the current crew... it's going to happen eventually as the current crew get older and wealthier they move away from their fan-base.

Some episodes haven't been up to par with some of their best stuff, but regardless it's still a car show. Axe it and I've got no other car show to watch.

they just need to go back to basics i.e. testing cars!

i enjoy the races and challenges but the stuff like that car chase scene is silly and boring

^ tell me about it. Top Gear Australia was a joke. Glad they gave up on it as it was embarrassing.

On another note, a guy at work just forked out $70k on a FPV GT.....what a waste of money. It will be worth $20k in a few years and falling to pieces.

They do have a supercharged 5.0L V8, I wouldn't be too harsh. Our Fords have been more reliable than the euros too.

Lucas, thats just a stupid comment.

I owned an FPV GTP for 5 years, and was modded up to 385kW, had no warranty claims, nor cost me a cent in anything but standard maintenance schedules.

It came stock with 6 pot brembos, Recaro seats and a MOMO steering wheel.

for $70k I think its brilliant value for money, and I'd challenge you to find to many other cars in this market place that offers that and enough seating for 5 large adults

Aren't cars generally a waste of money.

Agree with gareth_oau
Had an XR6T for 7 years, standard general maintenance with plenty of mods. The only major problem was the heater core.

Top Gear USA have been quite entertaining
