Hi,

I thought I'd share these pics with you all. I should be picking up the new Mk6 Golf 118TSI in the next 10 days or so and have been busy behind the scenes getting the wheels ready to swap over.

I bought a set of genuine 17" Detroit GTi rims off ebay and have had them refurbished and painted with a gloss black shadow to the back and spokes. The refurb came out really well I think, I won't mention who did them here in case its against forum rules but if anyone wants to know more them PM me.

Whadya reckon?

No reason you can't tell us who did them mate, if you want to recommend them then we encourage it!

They look fantastic. Looking forward to seeing them on a car :D

They look the goods! Should be easy to keep clean. The black shadow will no doubt hide brake dust too!

As Mickey said, if you have good things to say about them, post their details up!

Thanks guys,

as the return pm to Dave details, I got them done by Gary & Josh over at All Aluminium Welding at Chipping Norton. I've had various aluminium welding repairs done by them through my work for the last 8 years or so and can really recommend the work they do. You can lean more here http://www.aluminiumwelding-bankstown.websyte.com.au/

They fixed some minor curb rash, painted the fronts silver and then did the gloss black. Cost me $120 per wheel.

If anyone wants to utilise their services tell them Stuart from Sydney Diesel Centre sent you (no kickbacks to me).

Im looking for some Cheap Mesh wheels for a 1995 Civic Ex. but I cant find any around the net. I was wondering if some people can post links of some places.

This isn't quite the right place to post that question Sajeby; have a look on eBay as I reckon that's the only place you'll get cheap mesh wheels in 4x100 for your civic.

Wow These look very Schmick!

Really considering getting these done to my wheels, and very reasonable price.

Although I dont know how I would get around if I get these done as I dont have an extra set of tyres lying around

Actually the wheels he's got are Denvers not Detroits. Detroits are 18" instead of the Denver 17's and they come standard with the black sections and feature a machined face. I think they were quite an expensive option on the Mk6's.

Each to their own. The world would be very boring if we all liked the same things. They are just soooo easy to clean though ;-)
I think you may be right Poyta. The Detroits are also called by various names - Huffs in the States for example.

just a thought.. i recon these would look awesome with redwall tyres.
the red line would make the rims look bigger, and tie in with the LED Tails...
