Spotted: One giant, hulking black 4 door sedan, no badges & very well detailed. Was parked at my local shops last week. It was far too big to be a jetta or a passat, so that leaves one option, it was a A PHEATON :eek::eek::eek:

What a truely gigantic car, looked amazing!!

2 in WA one dark blue and the one you saw.

1 silver in NSW.

Is this what you saw? These were taken on a freeway in France last year

I saw a very few of them in America last year, mostly in Navy Blue...very elegant, like a giant Jetta or Passat.

Could it have been a Passat CC? I've seen a couple down here in Melbourne, much bigger than a regular Passat and with no badges.

I used to live a little bit north of where that photo was taken (Senlis and Compiegne). I take it you were on the A15 heading towards Brittany (or into Paris even)?

I've never seen a Phaeton in real life. Must've been a rich Parisien on his way to see his mistress hehe.

There was also a black one that was imported by the VW Head office. it had number plates "VW1" very nice car but found out it was too expensive to import and therefore would not sell well.

Indeed it was one of those. Darn, was all excited I'd seen a phaeton! Gotta say tho, Passat CC's look a heap better!
