drivers window stopped working so i pulled the bits and pieces off and it seemed the plug for the motor had some broken pins. off to local wreckers 4 replacement plug but the three mk3's there all had a totally different setup. same deal on another two at the next wreckers. mine is a '94 and these were all at least '95-96's but it was completely different. wreckers say the VAG part number on the bit i was chasing was the audi A3 setup???
so wondering whether this was fitted at time of build as an equivalent because they'd run out or if its been retrofitted by a repairshop at some stage to save a buck. has anyone had same issue?
delivery on part was fortnight so my mate worked his soldering magic and this worked for a month or so but has stopped again.... so now im wondering if i should replace whats there or source the correct vw part?????

Sorry for long post but hard to explain and relying on passenger window is really starting to agitate me.
advice much appreciated!!

Thats a bit weird! Can't help you but I would have thought A3 windows would be a totally different setup to Mk3 windows ???

What car is it?

Can you show us a pic of the thing?

There are aftermarket regs floating about which people swopped out when the originals broke.

its a sep '94 vr6. yeah i will get some pics tomor. on all the mk3s that i looked at for a replacement, the wiring harness actually plugs into the black plastic housing of the elec window motor whereas on my car the wiring harness connects to a similiar plug on a short lead with a D shaped plug on the end. this then plugs into wind motor.

very hard to explain clearly, but i will get some pics and post tomor
