Did the old ones get archived or moved to the 'hidden mods-only' area (same thing when they got reshuffled a few weeks ago) or have they gone for good?

The one thread per state ones are archived. I don't know what happened with the original section posts.

The permissions have been fixed so you should all be right now. There is still a few bugs being worked out from the upgrade.
