If youre interested in VW club membership then it works out cheaper.

Join a club like PIARC (Who is running the day)

Peter Jones

Yep, you've got to be a member of a CAMS affiliated club to be eligible for a CAMS license.

VWCV and PIARC are the two clubs that spring to mind in Vic.

Peter is that on @ Philip island as well? Ran the car @ Sandow 2 weeks ago and loved it.

Inlet manifold machined - done
all new gaskets - done
new CV's - done.
semi slicks working a treat.

think a brake up grade is on the way but...

cheers

Yep.

Regs are over at the PIARC site.

http://www.piarc.com.au/files/August%2009%20Island%20Sprint%20Regs.pdf

These are the regs for both the familiarisation on Saturday and the Group5 Sprints on Sunday.

If you Join philip island you don't ned to join for the whole year just pay the remainder and you can then get a cams S2.

What about metal valve caps I'm sure you needed these no?

What about metal valve caps I'm sure you needed these no?

It's all in the book.:)

http://www.camsmanual.com.au/

Specifically, Schedule E requirement 6.

http://www.camsmanual.com.au/pdf/10_gen_req/GQ06_Schedule_E_Q309.pdf

6. VALVE CAPS
Each tyre valve shall be fitted with a cap which effectively prevents leakage in use.

Typically plastic caps are not regarded as capable of preventing leakage.

I imagine the rationale to be that the cap needs to be a backup seal if the valve itself fails.

Posted off the entry form for Sunday 16th (Sprints) today.

White rides again! (Let's hope I can keep the water in the radiator this time)

I will be there on the Saturday timing Superkarts who you will be sharing the track with on the day :) and if you have a Dorian transponder I could probably time your laps too!

You just pay for it basically.

On the regs for the Island event you can check a box at the bottom to add one to the bill. You'll need membership to a CAMS affiliated club as well which is another option on the form.

alternatively visit http://cams.com.au/

I know it is stupidly early - I just started "work"

Pardon my lack of knowledge but as far as I can see all I need is to add a seccondry point of connection for my bonnet (strap etc) and a extinguisher fixed in the car within reach.
I have a MK5 GTI and would LOVE to join this event - how can I go about the two requirements mentioned above without permanently altering my car too much?
Cheeeers guys
