Im up for new tyres soon an ive been looking at some goodyear f1's gsd3s. Had nearly new f1's on the car when i bought it a few years back, they were great. Heaps of grip and seemed to last too. So i think ill try em again. Only they aint cheap ($190 tempe tyres-$215/230 elsewhere). Anybody tell me if there worth it or should i give em a miss?

I've got Nexen N3000's. 205/40/16 and about $520 for four. Only really pushed them on the road today keeping up with a mates wrx. So yeah they are VERY good for what they cost.

Yokhama A-Drive has become my choice of tyre for hatch backs as they are developed of lighter/frontwheel drive cars and have a good wear vs. traction balance.

Go for the AVS series Yokhama ES100's. I think they still produce them...
I've goy them on my Type R and they're a great tyre.

just got firestone firehawk wide ovals on my mk1.. top tyres for a reasonable price... i paid $119 each incl fitting and balance.. I just upgraded from $80 kingstar "sidewallrollingcrapheaps" and the difference is incredible!!

Try the range of Falken tyres. The sets for all sorts of performance needs. I first tried them in the earlier 90s

I have had a set of Goodyear F1's before and I agree, there a great tyre one of the best ive tried! But my local tyre guy swears by Falken FK452 and said they were amazing value for money :)

only bad thing about them is the bloody noise so loud! If its value and performance your after have a look at Sava, didn’t think they would be good, but had them on the Renault and was really impressed, however they did waste faster than usual, compound was soft.

The old F1s were very loud but the new F1 GSD3s are much quieter!
And boy do they grip, I've got them on my a3 and they are a great tyre!
