Hey guys,

this is my first post on here, so please be gentle!!

I drive the V6 Bora and want to make it go faster, but don't want any reliance problems. I would ideally like another 50kw out of the engine, and will spend a couple of grand.
Would love some idea's on what i can do to achieve this!
Thanks guys.

i dont think u would be able to add an extra third to your performance for only a couple grand. and some sort of forced induction setup is gonna cost more than that.

I reckon 10K would be a better budget, a turbo kit then you'll need to sort the brakes and suspension to cope.

You might get 10-20 KW tops, for the money you are talking of.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Hi Guys,
I have tuned a few Boras and we have had very good results. Do a BMC CDA, Milltek cat back exhaust and AmD chiptuning for about 20Kw. You can also do Schrick cams which make a big differance Aprox. 10kw. Dead smooth idle also!
$2K wont get you too far on a modern VW in the way of tuning though. Don't do it on the cheap. I have seen alot of this sort of work and it just detracts from the intention of the upgrade on all levels. If you are on a buget do the BMC CDA it works wonders for the top end breathing. Aprox. $650 + install.

The V6 motor is very under tuned from the factory. A well modded Bora will be much quicker than an R32 in a streight line. :D

Hope this helps.

Simon

There are bolt ons and then there is real tuning .

For a budget of $10k you could probably just be able to get a stage 1 supercharger kit

But to keep it atmo this is what I would do :

Chip tuned to specific cams
porting exhaust manifold and downpipe to cat connector
replacement of first muffler with resonator , removal of crimp section and replacement of suitcase muffler
CAI into stock airbox
Removal of throttle body heating
Haldex ecu upgrade
set of v3 KW coilovers

That should give you a fairly potent Bora that should beat even a chipped R32!

I am thinking...

BMC CDA
Haldex controller
Schrick Cams
KW V3

Chip tuned to specific cams

What tuning shop is recommended in Melb for this ?

porting exhaust manifold and downpipe to cat connector
replacement of first muffler with resonator , removal of cimp section and replacement of suitcase muffler

What parts are recommended to do this ?

CAI into stock airbox

CAI ?

Removal of throttle body heating

Is that something I can do ?

Regards,
Thanks !

Might sound like a stupid question but what exactly is a BMC CDA and what does it do? Never heard of them before!

BMC CDA is a Carbon Airbox replacing the factory one to give better airflow and sound.
