Hi all,
does anyone know how to get a showroom shinewhen u paint a panel. i evetually got it our of my bonnet but that took alot of elbow grease with cutting compound and 180 sandpaper then buffing with cut and polish.
there must be a simpler way?

Assuming you used acrylic......From my (limited) experience the critical thing is to get the paint at the right consistency when you spray it. If it's not too dry when it hits the panel (more thinners) then it'll dry with a shiny finish. But then, if it's too wet it may run or get an eggshell finish. Conditions when you spray are critical, especially temp. and humidity. The most successful spray job I did didn't need to be buffed at all, while the worst was so bad that I rubbed the whole panel back to primer and started again. And the only thing that was different was the weather! We've got at least 2 spraypainters on the forum, perhaps one of them will advise????
