went round to pick up my son earlier, and my girlfriends father ( a keen metal detecter ) seemed a bit pleased....he'd been scouting in a field ( miles from anywhere ) not only did he find a few old coins.....but best of all, he found this...... 8)

No, they're all plastic. My old silver Golf had a GL badge.

Somebody has debadged the hatch on a Golf L.
Golf badges aren't all plastic as this one proves ?
maybe the aliens have changed it

This stimulates my scientific mind..... The "silvering" on the badges. What is it? It looks like chrome and if it is, this would attract a metal detector.

I think they were all ally up to a certain time, except for the GTI and Driver, which were always plastic.....so that'll be L, CL, GL, GLS, LS.

European market Golfs are the same as ours depending on options.

I wonder if the alloy badge is from a '75?
