Be Part of Volkswagen History in Australia - Golf Drivers Wanted

Volkswagen Group Australia are offering the unique opportunity to be part of local Volkswagen History. We will be reaching a significant milestone of the 100,000th Golf sold in Australia within the next few weeks and would like to stage a celebration for the occasion.

The aim is to create a unique photo opportunity to capture this important moment and we need your help.

If you drive any model Golf and are keen for your vehicle to be part of the photo, simply show up with your vehicle on the day. We will be providing lunch and every participating Golf driver will receive a gift on the day. Apart from that, you will receive your own personal print of the event photo in the mail once the actual 1OO,0OOlh Golf has been sold.

Date: Saturday, 30th May 2009
Time: 12.30 pm sharp - 3.00 pm
Venue: Barangaroo (near Darling Harbour)
Hickson Road, Sydney
Watch out for Volkswagen Signage

All we need is your commitment to show up with your Golf on the day and your willingness to participate in the activity. You'd have to arrive at 12.30 pm sharp and stay until roughly 3.00 pm while the photo is taken. Please return this form (http://mooshen.com/vwwc/100,000%20Golf%20sm.pdf) by fax to (02) 9695 6186 or alternatively email below information to nadine.nethery@volkswagen.com.au

Registration is vital by Tuesday, 26th May 2009.

Flyer: http://mooshen.com/vwwc/100,000%20Golf%20sm.pdf

Sorry for the short notice, I just received this while at the Nationals. Feel free to give to anyone and everyone you know who drives a Golf. I look forward to seeing people there.

EDIT: Got an email from Nadine today:

Just wanted to let you know that the RSVP date has been extended until Thursday this week.

I inagine they would take photos from an elevated position.............then instead of a "where's Wally" puzzle, they could put out a "where's Jetta" puzzle!

Cheers

Got a reply from Nadine @ VW.

Hi Robert,

Unfortunately the invite strictly is for Golf drivers in this instance.

Thanks a lot for your interest in the event though. Feel free to forward
the invite to anybody you know who might be interested and driving a
Golf.

Best Regards,

Fair enough I reckon, given this is to celebrate the history of the Golf. I suspect although those of us driving Boras/Jettas can't have our cars in the photo, we can still show up to watch if we're keen!

Got this today in one of my emails:

Dear All,

Thank you very much for registering yourself and your Golf to attend our photo shoot tomorrow.

Please keep in mind to be at Barangaroo at 12.30pm to ensure we have plenty of time to set everything up.

Time: 12.30 pm sharp – 3.00 pm
Venue: Barangaroo (near Darling Harbour)
Hickson Road, Sydney
Watch out for Volkswagen Signage

The entrance to Barangaroo will be through a security Gate (Gate 5) which you won’t be able to miss due to the Volkswagen Signage. There will be a registration point at the gate where you will be welcomed by Volkswagen staff.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me any time.

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.

Best Regards,

Nadine Nethery
