Got a problem that has just manifested itself in my car.

and Tim if you say in tank fuel pump i'll kill you hahaha.

the pumps get very noisy when they go from my experience. I doubt it would be that.

there isnt ANY noise coming from the back as far as i can tell.. it feels to me that it is loosing fuel pressure initially as once the car starts it runs fine, the idle is a little jittery but it hasnt lost any power.

Could it be the FPR?

i am having the exact same problem with my car... Does it tend to start first time if the car is warm?

I have been told that it can be an injector issue...

Totally random, although it does seem to be a little better after injector cleaner.

it is worse on hot days then cold days.

check all ur fuel line's and injectors and maybe ur distributar or leads but not sure

wouldnt be leads as if there was a prblem with them he would get it under load, not just on starting, VR6s dont have a distributor in australian delivered models, rather a coilpack, but again i highly doubt this to be the origin of the problem.

Wouldnt hurt to do the fuel lines. Could be clogged up with crap, so give them a flush to clean out all the crap. Have you tried changing the fuel filter?

I`d suspect one of the sensors on the front of the thermostat housing. Probably the blue 4 pin one. or the yellow one. Hard to guess though. Better to plug it in to a service thing and get it scanned. I`d do if for you if you were nearer.

Have you tried doing a VAG COM at all? Maybe it is bringing up some error codes.

I'll go and vag it now but last time i checked there was no codes...

does it die after starting? or does the starter motor not move at all?
if the former, it could be the key chip not registering with the reader in the ignition - take it out and try again

not sure of the cure if it is the latter problem though...

might be a silly question. but are your spark plugs in good condition?

Golf Loon

That code is for the lambda sensor in the exhaust which analyses the exhaust gas.

If this is dodgy, it will not read immediately, only after engine has generated more gas. This is why car will not start first time.

Change the sensor and you are in :D
