Hey Golf Loon,

I know its been sold, but how much money would need to be spent on something like that looking at your "cheap and easy to fix" comment

Maybe even cheaper if you used golf bits?
Then it's be a Gonto. Sweet!

When I bought my Mk3 it was in similar condition to that Vento. I didnt so much find cost in panles as I sourced second hand stuff and items from the forum. The real cost invloved will be having the car re-allinged etc. I was very lucky in that my olman is very good mates with a panel shop.

But dont get me wrong its a load of fun taking a trash can and spending the hours making it look new again which I have hopefully acheived.

That car is not much of a hit. I reckon $1000 on parts and some paint.
I`d use a Golf front too.

Would love it, but have no way of getting it home, and until mines running 100% i dont need more problems... how would the engine and gear box be? are the 1.6 autos in mk3s bad/good/ok? got a few km...

engine is actually a 2.0, not a 1.6. with good service history, they should be generally oik.

Auto boxes in these are Gash to be honest. If it were mines i would be going manual. 2ltr engines are bullet proof. im going to keep an eye on this one
