You've seen them all, the ones that make you puzzled, confused, cringe and cry.
No, despite the euro plates your accord euro is still a honda!
I think it must've been an optional extra or something.

Anyway, put up photos of cars that you've found that are obviously not euro but with the plates. I'll start off...

Doesn't quite have the same effect on landcruisers, though I can see your desire to express your fondness for trees

Your lexus doesn't count either

I've been waiting for someone to bring this up.

In the past couple of months I've seen some Lexus' with Euro plates, and most recently I spotted a tarted up BA XR with Euro plates.

It could be the plates are between vehicles and on the family's second car in the interim...

Like the Toyota Tarago I saw with HDT-50L, unless it was a very random coincidence.

So now you aren't allowed to have "euro" style plates except on car that is "european" ?

Who makes up these "rules", and who gives these privileged individuals the authority to pronounce them as if they were the Pope ( who follows the doctrine of infallibility ie he can say things and then say they can't be wrong, ever ! )

Better not look too closely at where some VWs were actually built then (South Africa, China, Mexico etc) !!!! ROFLMAO

It's not to much as rules as it is known - no one is going to stop you from putting your euro plates on your Mazda Metro.

Gotta admit though - some of those cars look better now they've got euro plates on them.

Good idea for a thread! Was going to do one about 2 hours before this started but then thought "nnah, it's too similar to the Epic Fail thread".

I can't see anything wrong with that picture, they're VW's biggest market, they sell just under a million cars a year there! Its just like calling Holden and Ford Australian...

Hey guys, glad someone brought up a thread on euro plates....sorry, no i don't have a pic of misplaced euro plates but, and maybe it's just me, why do people get slimline euro plates?? I thought the purpose of getting euro plates was to fill out the space where the number plates go with the bigger sized number plates? Plus obviously they look different to normal plates and have that euro look about them.

Rant over...

Cheers,
Jayse.

You're right in the sense that they're a good market for VW, but have you seen the cars they produce? And i've read the quality is horrible as well. I could be wrong but I believe it drags the VW name down..
Just my $0.02..

What I dont understand, if they created the euro plate to fill the massive gap on euro cars, why haven't they come up with a japanese plate? How many japanese imports do you see with bent/chopped numberplates?

Umm they have (well in QLD). The've got the USA sized plate which fits the gap on any Japanese imported car.. And look good might I add!

Also, I think that if the car has the space for a euro plate, it'd look better with one as opposed to without one. :)
