Just move inter state...It just makes living in general so much cheaper than living in NSW....
Thanks for the heads up! Mine was going expiring very soon...
Gave them a call today and throw my credit card at them as soon as I heard the price...

Can someone make this a sticky so it's easier to find?

Aon are good - they're essentially an insurance broker - they'll also find good comprehensive insurance deals for you as well.
That said, it's hard to go past Allianz at the moment (my Bora is with them, gradually moving all insurance to them)...

Allianz sux. I'm 27 with a perfect record and they won't insure me with my Polo GTI! :brutal:

Why would this be a sticky... it's only for 1 state and it's not just for the Polo...

I agree that it would probably be good to have on all pages. I think it's good to have as a sticky cause we have a very large number of members in NSW.

Because I like to be helpful ... not obstructive. OK with you?

The more stickies that are of little use create more crap at the top of the page that you need to scroll past everytime you want to read something decent.
I'd say that's obstructing other users from perusing the forums easily.

Shall we let you run the forum? How about we set your name back to "Tosspot"?
There are currently 7 stickies at the top of Polo ... not excessive to my way of thinking. However ... point taken, I'm moving this to General for a broader audience. Just remember ... we've spoken about how you use the language on here before and I don't want to infract you, but replying in an aggressive manner (as above) will eventually get you infracted.

lmao i cant believe people get so passionate about a fricken forum :)
im a little perplexed as to why anyone would give a sh#t where a sticky goes, as it only means 3mm worth of extra scrolling. but any way each to there own.

This is a great thread to sticky!
I got a quote for $361 - as an under 25, this is a saving of around $250 from what I was originally quoted.
I highly recommend it, especially if you are under 30 as we tend to pay through the nose for our CTP.

The last 2 greenslips I have got were from the GIO for $311 each.
One for the 77 Golf and the other for the 85 T3 Caravelle.

That's cheap - is that for an under 30? If so, I guess Newcastle is a lot cheaper than Sydney for green slips!

No sorry, its not for under 30 (wish I was :frown: ) and Newcastle is cheaper than Sydney - also helps if you have full comprehensive insurance....

And I've now taken my greenslip away from Allianz - they wanted over double what AAMI wanted. I went to the Motor Accident Authority's Greenslip searching service (the RTA links to it), punched my details in and it gave me a list of options, with AAMI being the cheapest.

Comprehensive will shortly move to Shannons as well (they're cheaper and have better options for enthusiasts than Allianz, who asked me if I'd imported my Bora when I recently called to ask about wheel upgrades, and then still couldn't find the stock wheel sizes).

im 18 and last year i managed to go with QBE for around $350 massive bargain i think it was due to the fact they didnt ask for age lol!this year bumped it up to $410 which is still pretty good considering circumstances.
Just Googled and found this mob. http://valuegreenslips.com.au/
Todate the cheapest for my 1991 ute with no insurance.
Quote $340 for over 30.
Better than the big boys who wanted over $500

I just got my renewal for the Scirocco, which last year was with Swann Insurance.
The renewal was $617!
of which $420 was premium, $155 was MCIS levvies and $42 was GST
This seemed a little excessive and as Shannons now do Greenslips and insure all my cars, I gave them a call.
Shannons price was $354 all in.
Check your paperwork people and ring around.
Just went through this thread again and tried GIO as melissa mentioned
and just got it for $299.08 (Central Coast garaged.)

Good stuff. I just got 2 from Shannons - one of them was $335 and the other one for 6 months was $173 (just to get 2 rego's away from each other)

Hi all I'm at that rego time of the year again with my mk1. I just rang Shanons and they said to get CTP with them you need the car insured with them as well, like comprehensive, maybe 3rd party I'm not sure. Is that what others that went with Shanons experienced as well? Did you go for a classic car style of insurance with less kms allowed per year?
Thanks
melissa

Just rego'd the MK1 again - this time the greenslip from Shannons was $309 compared to $399 with GIO.
Yes you do need your car insured comprehensive with Shannons to use them for greenslips which is no problem for me seeing that all 4 of our vehicles are with Shannons.

Do you need to specifically ask for fleet discount? I called today and was quoted $690 for my 2006 Polo.....

The you quoted is like over 1 years old, and the forum member who wrote it hasn't been here for over 6 months....
