Hello everybody! My name is Jim,my wifes name is Jennie, and we have very recently purchased a new Eos TDI manual.Having never owned a VW before,we are rapidly coming to appreciate the virtues of this car.We bought it on a whim,we were actually out looking at VW powered trikes(we are also motorcycle tragics)and just decided to go looking at convertibles for a bit of fun.Test drove a Mazda MX5,very nice, but too cramped and impracticle.Tried to test drive a Mini with the folding roof, but the dealer was too busy to offer us a test drive,so we gave him the flick right away.Tried an Astra, but it sorta looks like one of those el cheapo stereos you buy from Crazy Clarks on the inside, and it drove quite poorly,in our opinion.Fell instantly in love with the Eos,you can just tell it has been engineered properly, and was well built and hopefully will be very reliable. So we bought it on the spot.Hopefully we can make a meaningfull contribution to this forum, and perhaps make some new friends along the way.We live in South East Queensland,in the Scenic Rim,so we have some fabulous roads for both our beloved Kawasaki Vulcan cruiser and our new Eos......Cheers Jim and Jen

welcome aboard Jim and Jen... I dont personally have an EOS but my neighbours do, and I had the priviledge of driving it whilest they went over seas for 3 months... it's also a TDI. I was surprised how much torque the engine makes and I agree in the quality and refinement levels inside and out.

Regards,
Dave

Hi Jim and Jen,

Where abouts in the Scenic Rim are you from? I am in Jimboomba, just up the road really :-)

Hope to see you around the area in the Eos soon.

Great choice - apparently VW outsold the MX-5 in Australia with the Eos last year, and unless you're specifically looking for a lightweight rear-wheel-drive car, you can tell why!

Welcome.
Eos is what I want next!
After the children have left home and there's just the two of us again.

Welcome.
Eos is what I want next!
After the children have left home and there's just the two of us again.

Our two boys are all grown up and gone,gone,gone!........so we ride our motorcycle and we cruise in our Eos,whenever we want, and with no worries about getting home and finding the joint destroyed by their hoon mates and various female hangeronerers(good word huh?).....we have our lives back, and its friggen fantastic!

Not long now for us, too.
We left our two girls, 13 and 16, alone for the weekend recently and all was well when we returned.
I say, is that a light I see? .... Drive faster! The tunnel is coming to an end.

We actually hurried the whole process along Karen...we moved to Queensland and abandoned our boys back in Sydney.....older boy in Army,so he couldnt come anyway, younger one didnt wanna leave his mates and his job,so we waved goodbye, jumped in the car(a BA Falcon, what a mistake THAT was)and headed north! We dont regret a second of it,we have made some fabulous friends up here, the weather is fantastic, life is good!.....
