I know you tried a block of wood and sledge hammer, I would try a rubber mallet if you have one. A constant tapping while wiggling may be what it requires?

Do you have any movement at all?

From my experience you need to apply pressure to the off-side of anything that you are trying to separate. Doesn't matter if it's a ball joint, track rod end or cylinder head it needs to be levered away from the component with the greater mass before applying a shock. So in the case of your manifold (which I haven't seen and am only imagining) put a lever between it an the block/head/immovable object and then hit with a fibre/wooden/rubber mallet to dislodge. But, before you do anything more, check and double-check that there isn't something that you've missed still holding it on. I've done it a million times and cursed myself blue the same number.

Of course the little flat bracket from the inlet manifold to the exhaust manifold is undone.

Yeah if you are certain its undone. A scissor jack could be the go.

one bolt in the bottom of the inlet manifold with a flat bracket between it and a bolt in the top of the exhaust manifold.

its usually rusted. just undo it till the bolts snap then leave it off. 12 or 13mm spanner.

How about you count the bolts that have been removed and someone on the forum can tell you if that is all. Just to make sure

Hope your ok!

Now go to the fridge, grab a coldie. Knock the top off it, enjoy it while looking at the manifold contemplating. "why"?

Seriously though they can be damn frustrating. For memory years ago you could get a bonding compound for manifold/exhaust gaskets that went rock hard, it may have a similar product on it.

Once finished your beer, grab the piece of wood and sledge and lightly tap it off. We are all cheering for you.

So that we can have an interstate contest.
Post it to me for a week and I will organise the Sydney guys and we'll have a go. If we fail, we then post it to Hobart etc.

Heat! apply heat, if you don't have oxy/acet. Then carefully use boiling water slowly pouring it close as possible to head.

Just make sure no water can get into head or opening of inlet manifold.

Tap it again.

If there are no more bolts. Bit of wood and belt the **** out of it.

Be prepared to have egg on your face if you bend the bolt that wasnt in there

There must be a bolt there somewhere otherwise it would fall off.End of story.
Would you like a workshop manual for one of these ,it sounds like you haven't gotone and they do come in handy.
I'll donate one to you
