Just got back from my local dealer & they had two new Passat CC's in stock. They have quite a road presence about them.

They had a metallic silver one with chrome trim & these "fan" style wheels.

The other was a dark grey, less chrome - looked great, my favorite.

both had the R36 motor on board & DSG box

Had a sit in one this afternoon. Looks outstanding from the outside and likewise inside. I'm 180cm tall and my head juuuust touched the roof when sitting in the back seat.
Over all though a great looking car

I was the same, I don't know how I would go with a sunroof wearing a helmet!

LOL. The front seat goes down a fair bit. You might be alright. Did you notice that the roof is tilt only? No slide capability at all. Too damn big.

saw a black one at Gold Coast VW on Saturday..... was parked outside in the wind and rain . Very nice looking car, and this one had the multi-spoke 'fan' style wheels.

The fan style wheels are standard on the V6. The TDi gets 5 spoke alloys. I'm still waiting to see one in the flesh/metal. Since my polo is going to get an ECU flash done on Friday, I might swing by and have a look at the VW dealership - see if they've got one yet.

Checked the one out that they had at the Syd Motor Show late last year. Not a bad jigger in real life!

fan wheels are just great: you'd have to pay extra and go for them.

Ok, well, I decided that I had to find out the proper name for the 'fan' wheels...they're called 'Interlagos'. On the spec sheet, you're apparently NOT able to order them with a TDi (yeah, right), although you can order the:

18" Thunder's
http://www.vwwatercooled.com.au/forums/images/imported/2009/02/volkswagenthunder-1.jpg

or the 19" Sagitta's
http://www.vwwatercooled.com.au/forums/images/imported/2009/02/volkswagensagitta-1.jpg

Personally, I think the Interlagos wheels are the mutts! Oh, and the TDi ones are called 'Daytona's'

I think VW should rename them the "FAN" wheels - that would upset the advertising executives

I can just see a salesman losing it at some point..."Look, they're called Interlagos wheels, NOT FAN WHEELS OK?!".

If I ever speak to a dealer about the CC i'm going to make sure I say Fan wheels as often as possible hehe.

you = "i really like those fan wheels, you know the fan wheels? the fan wheels, fan wheels, fan fan fan."

dealer = "sir, they... are... called...... INTERLAGOS"

you = "what are? the FAAAN wheels" :nana:

I reckon the Fan's will be amongst the hardest in the world to clean though!

And here's another thought, they're actually directional - as in they're rotating in such a way as, if they were in fact a fan, they would be blowing air out, rather than in.....if you get my meaning?!

Guy_H

The correct way for wheels to vent for brake cooling is by drawing air out through the wheel. These FAN wheels must be awesome for that. :)

Hmmm...those Interlagos wheels do look good!
I wonder if you can order an R36 with those as a direct swap? :)

It'd be even better if they were available in 19".

Check out the wheel choices on the link. Plenty available but BIG dollars

Hmmm - that site values the R36 wheels as more exxy than the Interlagos.
Wonder if that'll hold any sway over a dealer? :D

Lennock have one on the showroom floor and a few in their holding bay. They look pretty good.

Nice to get an up close look at some of the Mk6 Golf switch gear too.

Already seen it of course but nice to get invited.

Looked at the CC yesterday... black one with privacy glass, tan leather interior. Very nice. If it had 3 back seats I'd buy one instead of the R36 - more subtle.

Fair enough, but if you go for the V6 version, it's got the same engine as the R36. And it's pretty loaded with lots of goodies!

I can't remember the last time I carried 3 people in the back of a car.

Got a mini presentation of one of these yesterday -- Generally not a fan of big cars, but this won me over. The back seats are pimp!

Ages 7 9 and 13, so little ones just on boosters, not kiddie seats. Why?

Only because you probably couldn't fit 3 full size kiddie seats across the back of a Passat. My mates got a Kluger and the 3 seats are jammed in really tight.

OK... yes it's a squeeze with 2 seats and the big one in the middle of the back row of the 6, but they manage ok. :) It's not that often that the three of them are all in the back... The Passat seems similar interior size to the 6.

Had a look at the CC this week while I was at the dealer and wow! that is one gorgeous looking car. if I didnt need a wagon, I would take that over the R36!

Supposedly the first received by a customer in the country (who really knows). It's a been a long wait, having seen them in Europe for 6 months or more. Extras - Sat Nav, Adaptive Cruise Control (haven't tried yet), and Park Assist (which looked really good when people were staring at the car reverse parking itself today - much better than I could do :). After 1 hour - drives smoothly, heaps of features, and a surprisingly large amount of boot space. Driving to Coffs next week and will drop in on my Bro who got a R36 sedan last month - will be an interesting comparison. Anyone else buying this car - my advice, try Chatswood Classic (Tim Killar) and you'll get prompt service and a great price with fleet discount if eligible (I tried Pmatta, Five Dock aswell).

Some pretty badly taken pics by me - and I'm getting my personalised plates next week (no points for imagination - CC 36 CC)!

Congrats on the car mate, very nice!! Is that two tone black/beige leather seats, or is it just cloth on the insides (against the centre console) to stop rubbing. either way mate, looks awesome.

Thanks Rhys - Two tone Beige/Black leather (I don't think you can get all Beige - not that I wanted that ). I also think the CC's come with all leather as standard.
