Hi Everyone,
There are only 3 weeks to the weekend, and only 2 weeks until driver entry cut-off!
Entry for VW Portland can be completed online at http://www.vwma.net.au or an entry form can be downloaded and posted to VWMA, PO Box 3551, Loganholme, Qld 4129. If you are intending to compete, please get your entry in as early as possible. Cut-off is Friday February 13th.
SouthCoast raceway have this year added a new amenities block with permanent shower facilities, so an extra level of comfort is now provided for those teams and spectators who are camping overnight(s). The Saturday evening meal will again be fully catered for, and those who took up the offer to dine at the club rooms last year were treated to some fine food and company. The dinner is pre-booking only, and along with driver entry forms must arrive at the VWMA studios by February 13th.
New for 2009 is the chance for one lucky Portland spectator to win a ride in Mark Gottwalt's winning 2008 drag Beetle. Details are available in the next issue of VWMA#21.
A limited edition Peter Keegan poster is included as part of the driver entries pack for Portland. These posters were kindly donated by Fabion Corio. In fact, Fabion's Inch Pincher features as the t-shirt design for 2009. The t-shirts are only available for purchase at the track at either Portland or Warwick.
Barry Lord and company are building the tappet cover race track for Portland. Rumour has it that the track will have a christmas tree light setup! It's getting serious at the amateur end....Watercooled tappet cover racers are permitted.
See you on the track.
Cheers
Craig Hughes
