Yeah the rims are factory 15's, they look bigger since I have lowered the car.

They both look great. The lowered stance of the V6 gives it a very purposeful look. A great pair of dubs.

What year is the GTI? I`d say 78, as it has small taillights.

Oneofthegreats
04-11-2006, 08:41 PM
I reckon 79. Big bar's, earlier style dash. 79 was the last year with that style dash too.
80 had the new dash & striped trim & 81 had the big rear lights along with the A-pillar deflector's, angled door pull's & bigger door bin's.

Its a late 1980 but the above spec of the what you state is a 79, also it has the 5 speed box.

Sorry, my mistake. Jan 80 was the intro of 5 speed & the early dash ran upto Aug. 1980. I should have remembered as I have an 80 mk1 here with early dash.
Sept. 80 had the new dash & striped trim
Sept. 81 had the big rear lights along with the A-pillar deflector's, angled door pull's & bigger door bin's.

Holy Hell mate. What a stable of cars! Respect to all the mk1 GTI's.

Especially the RS2. Got to ask how does the fastest production car to 50km/h feel? I can only imagine the sound under full noise.

Jeez, I wish we got these in OZ.

whats the specs on the RS2???

05-11-2006, 09:34 PM
Google it or try this.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audi_RS2

Built inconjunction with Porsche
Like I said, fastest production vehicle to 50km/h ever built. Faster than the Mclaren F1 road car & even a F1 car of that time.

Insane!!!!!

Yeah, the RS2 was a cool car, loved pulling up to anything at the lights and toasting it :)

I know one of the NZ new RS2s made it to OZ though (blue), NZ got all the RS2s that were earmarked for OZ, for some reason you guys didnt want them :?

Mate.... We don't get a choice. It's the Big Boys in Big Business that make the decisions.

Oh, and when it comes to getting our hands on used items from overseas, it's the Federal Government that makes and enforces their rules.
