Central Locking Problem

Ok so the other day i noticed that my central locking began to stuff up. The lights no longer flash when it is locked/ unlocked, however it does LOCK fine.... the problem is the unlock... When i press the button, the mechanisms in the door make the usual noise as if it was opening, but no, nothing, the door stays locked, and as i said, there are no flashes of the blinkers...

has anyone experienced this or knows what to do?

I just ran a fault code readout on the v-checker and it stated "17978.P1570 Engine Control Module Disabled"..... is that related? or is that something entirely different i should worry about :(

ok so i figured out that both the buttons on my key (even the unlock) are actually locking the car, why would it be doing that?

The indicator driver in the central locking ecu has fell over, you can check this with VAGCOM and if it has it will have a code my friend. Changed one for the same reason and i know of another that shorted.
Im afraid it sounds like an ecu reqd mate
