How many mk2 gti's in Aus came with Non-power steer ? Im yet to see one without it , thought I'd ask

I have seen a few South African ones here without it. All Aussie Delivered 1990 - 1992 Mk2s had it.

Most private imports bar a few 16v GTI's of which there are bugger all. Mine doesn't have it. Saying that the new KR has the pulleys to support Power steering...

My 89 16v doesn't have it, but I want it. Does anyone happen to have a 16v PAS rack lying around? 8v won't do...

Whats the difference in the 8v and 16v PAS racks ?

I have the brackets to bolt the pump to the engine.

Not aware of any differences in the racks.

The 16v rack is a quicker ratio.

I have a VR6 rack. What ratio does that have compared to a 16v?

Good question. I think I did find out but can't remember currently.
