more than likley it will be either a spark plug craped it self, or ignition control module its on the side of the air box or a coil pack not that bad dont worry i doubt you would have a major prob like a blow motor:)

Cheers DUB 20V, was doing a little reading on ukmkvis.net and they were saying ign amp. Any way of figuring out what the problem is without buying new parts or vagcomming it? Don't want to have to buy new parts if i don't need them.

Sounds like plug or coil pack...was it only doing it under load, or all of the time?

It first dropped when i was reving pretty hard, then it kept running on 3 even when i let it idle.

How long is it sice you did your plugs? I would replace them first, then toubleshoot from there, but thats just me.

I've only had the car for a couple of months so not sure how long the plugs have been in it?
Yeah sounded exactly like a wrx.

Well after a trip down to repco and a set of bosch plugs on sale for 44cents each (couldn't get anything else anyway), the car is running great again.
I don't think i will ever fix a problem for that little money every again.
Thanks for your help guys! :driver:

44 cent spark plugs?? I dont reckon you would have the correct long life plugs now and it will pay you to get the correct ones later on.
I am glad that you have sorted out the problem though.

They are Bosch F7LTCR. Aren't these the same as factory?

My Bosch book is showing FR 7 KPP33+ for the AGU motor.
Not having a go at you, just suggesting.
Cheers, Andrew :)

i have been having the samme issue with mine - turns out to be the n75 valve, or so i'm told.
im still yet to fix mine, but after 2000km's it is still intermittent.
