R32 did. :)
Well at least all the wiring is there and attached to the mirrors.

Yes...
My 2002 VW Golf GTI had heated external mirrors.

Yep, my 2004 GTI has "Electrically Heated and Adjustable" external mirrors.

Sure comes in handy on those early Canberra winter mornings. :)

Ok cheers for that, I’m wondering how heated mirrors will go on a 99 or 2000 gti? They are from a 2001 gti. Would the wiring loom be different? I suspect it would all be in the mirror itself, so it’s just a matter of power?

It might just plug and play. In my experience most 1Js with heated mirrors report faults on VAG-COM and don't work anyway.

I had a 3 year old Beetle and they didn't work on that either.

Just for reference, what were the VAG-COM errors?

Did you find out why they didn't work on the Beetle?

(Luckily, mine have never played up or reported errors. I've found them to be a great bonus on -4 degrees mornings)

It said the mirror was open circuit IIRC. I bought the car to sell on and it was spring so I didn't spend the £££ on mew mirrors.

Hi all,

I have a 99 Mk4 GL and even it has heated and electrically adjusted mirrors, if mine has them I'd be surprised if the all didn't have them.

99% certain mine are heated as well. They come on with the rear windscreen demister I believe - never gets cold enough here to notice :D

I'd guess anyone with electric mirrors had heat too, but if the mirrors are manual then probably not. Did any Mk IVs even have manual mirrors??? :?

From memory if your mirrors have a slight blue tinge they are heated ?

Not necessarily. The stock mirrors in the R aren't blue tinted and are still heated. I've since swapped to blue tinted heated aspherical mirrors though. :)

Pretty sure my early 2000 GTI has heated mirrors. As said earlier, I think they heat up when the rear demister window button is on.
