hi it is mk 3 golf i bought not mk4 ,i need to know type of auto trans fluid how to top up trans as i have found tha cap but no dip stick :duh:

The Dipstick is attached to the cap. Take off the cap and you will find it.

Apparentley my car (Mk3 golf gl) has the O1M gearbox there is no dipstick.it also uses a synthetic fluid.information i have found suggests that this gear box is sealed.however it can be drained flushed and refilled.not advisable as information i have found.not sure what internet site as gear box may never work again .guy had it done on his passat had it towed home.:brutal:
