Finally rolled the mk1 today. I had been working up to this for weeks and today finished pulling the running gear off, tank out (avoiding poisonous spider – see below) and carefully pulled the lock pins out off the spindles. With a bit of muscle she spun gently over exposing the underside for all sorts of cleaning and welding purposes.

This is the final rotisserie I ended up making. It is based on a SuperCheap engine stand with additional outriggers and braces (Thanks to Smee for the inspiration).

The Cross bar picks up the bumper bar mounts, and bolts to the engine stand on the two uprights (to allow for future height adjustment)

And just when I thought removing the fuel tank was going well, I came face to face with an Ausie icon - the RedBack Spider. Overseas visitors may care to research this little charmer... after all not many venomous spiders have their own song :)
