Has anyone had or know how to rectify/troubleshoot my problem below?

When turning the ignition on the VW Adapter connection allows the stereo to recognise an ipod that is plugged in

However all of a sudden last night the stereo stopped recognising the ipod and now cannot play. :frown:The ipod has been in the car constantly plugged in for months in the glovebox and no previous trouble.

An I up for a trip to my VW dealer? Or is it something more simple?

Any feedback would be grateful.

Cheers,

Neil.

Have you tried disconnecting the ipod, powering the radio, then reinstalling the ipod?

you may need to do a reset on the ipod. Once disconnected from the adapter, press and hold both the menu section of the wheel and the centre button until the ipod resets. Then you should be right to start again. Happens on my Nano occasionally.

Thank you all for your feedack,

I've tried all your suggestions including reseting the ipod nano to no avail.

I even tried the daughters identical ipod. Note ipods both work fine.

I rang my local VW dealer for some advice and their comment makes me think that that know of an issue. To quote a technician "it's more than likely the module that is installed with the adapter, is the car still in warranty?" All in one breath!

I'll be ringing tomorrow and booking it in with the dealer to get fixed.

Again many thanks,

Cheers,

Neil

Hi All,

A new adapter replaced under warranty has fixed the problem. :)

As a bonus the dealer also washed and vacced the jetta too!

Now back to 7 hours of Andre Rieu!

Cheers!

Allypally,

Well if Andre is the cause the wife will know before I do!
