Volkswagen Ipod car kit

I have a brand new VW ipod car kit for sale all that is missing from it is an 8pin mini-din to ipod cable which costs like $20. There is one here for $6usd HERE (http://indashpc.org/new/accessories/cable-ipod-c.html)

So all this needs is the lead from the unit into the ipod and it will work fine? I am assuming it will work with a mk5 and an ipod nano?

My dad is interested in this as i just gave him my ipod nano :)
